I'm pressuming its the dredded turbo, but i would like a second and different opinion please!

When the car is left idling for about 5 mins when hot, it begins to smoke out of the right hand exhaust, after pulling away it clears. The turbos were both re-cond about 9'ooo miles ago, its on standard tubs, de-cats, filter exhaust, stage 1 chip.

Thanks for any help, STEVE

hi steve if you did a search you may of found PCV positive crankcase ventilation

you have a valve either side of the plenum, with a hose coming from it,what commonly happens is the valve sticks and rather than recirculating over time will cause oil to blow back in to the intake thus entering the cycle, check both valves for operation, and replace relevant hoses,if there in the closed position and stuck it may well cause oil to pressurize and force out of the dipstick or though gaskets and seals

Def agree with greg mate, looks very much like PCV valves. That'll save you a grand hopefully!

have you had an oil change recently? For the last 2 oil changes, mine had smoked for a while on idle then settles down and no smoke. Thought maybe I've got slightly too much oil in............

hi the kit is available via mike at mjp in the traders section,or ryan@ztech

approx £65 for both valves and 5hoses

Another top tip. Thanks chapps. I did not know that....

anyway to test if its these before spending the £65 to swap them?

yep 1st of all remove balance bar and check in side plenum for oil deposits normally heavy oil shows poor venting

next remove valves as shown in above link, check for operation by pressing valve in,if it sticks in the open position and does not retuen, they need replacing, they may even be stuck open,so again replace, also the problem is the hoses become hard and become brittle so worth replacing them at the same time

Thats great, will get on with that next week.

Thanks all, Steve

I,ve got the same problem , doesn,t smoke whilst running normally or under boost but when i stop and ticking over i,ll get just a quick puff of smoke from the n/s but only occasionally  , i,ve just replaced my PCV valves and pipes and guess what ... IT STILL DOES IT :headvswal :headvswal and my old valves were deffo knackered !!! its doing my tree in .

By the way you,ll need some very long nose pliers to get to the sprung clips around the pipes but their not bad to do , i hope it solves yours :D
