Howdy guys.

Well I decided to write my own spreadsheet to calculate my miles per gallon.

What can I say other than gutted ! lol.

I managed just 70 miles for £20 of 97RON Premium Unleaded :( thats 16mpg guys, how pants is that ! :hyper:

But then again I did have foot to floor for a lot of it, so I am gonna try some chilled out driving next time for 20 notes and see what happens.

Anyway heres a pic of the spreadsheet I did in Excel, if anyone wants a copy let me know and I will email you what I created, just be sure to tell any hot chicks it was me who wrote the spreadsheet

PM me if you want the excel file and I will be happy to email it across.

Cheers,

Matt :)

Erm .... lol does that mean what bhp ? or what fuel am I using ? tell you what I'll answer both :D

Fuel I put in 97RON Super Unleaded, local garage to me that sells higher than nasty 95RON stuff.

As to what power she makin, well .. shes totally standard, so many aspirations for doin things to her (oh er sounds well rude) but if moddin her means even worse bhp, I'll just pose in what I got lol :D

you need to look at your mapping "ECU" can you smell fuel on tick over ,,at the back of the car,,your "mpg" is not good at all

Oh Oh... Wozzer you may be onto something there mate.

Come to think of it .. yeah on occasion I have smelt fuel !

Eeeeekkk !.. ok (clams down) can you tell me how to look at my ECU mapping ? and what you think could be contributing to this ?

Cheers :)

Ahh ok..

Well if anyone wants it, email me with .. gimmie that spreadsheet to : matt_pike@ntlworld.com and I'll be happy to send it you :D

too much fuel going through your engine ,,, you need to go to a "zed" specialist,, and get your ecu checked ,,you can find one on the site in your area.. note this does not "cost" a lot of money so be careful ;) if you get a prob PM me

Thanks wosser :)

Hopefully in next month or so I will be able to do this :D I'll report back when I can and let you know what state of tune she was in.

Cheers mate.

no worries stay lucky mate ;) ;)

  • 5 weeks later...

If your car is totally standard and you can smell fuel at the exhaust and it's drinking too much petrol then there should be nothing wrong with the mapping of your ECU. It will be a fault with one of the sensors on the engine or corroded/damaged wiring to the sensors.

You need to get a diagnostics report on the car to pin point which one of the sensors is playing up. It could as simple as a dirty air filter.

In my TT. running 13psi I get around 19-23 mpg around town, and up to around 33mpg on the Motorway.

In the NA, Im not sure, but prob not quite as economical on the motorway (it revs higher for rpm vs speed) but more economical around town....although it tends to get thrashed more...so maybe not LOL

TT Manual (uk) get about 21-23mgp going to work and back, and about 28mpg on a run. i had a 2.9 Sierra and didn't get that much. But a mate of mine only get's 12-14mpg (hes mad)

That certainly is low, but depends how you're driving I suppose. I get 25-30mpg on the motorway on long runs, but only 15mpg if I rag it around town. I'm running 340rwbhp TT as well.
