Hi all,

I actually got flashed by a speed camera this afternoon for no apparent reason

We were on the A40 heading toward Oxford having left Burford a couple of miles back. The road there is subject to national speed limit. We were doing 55-60mph following a black Skoda. As we approached the camera the Skoda braked (as every one seems to do when passing a camera, even if they are at or below the speed limit); I made a comment to Julia about "idiots braking for cameras must cause more accidents than the cameras are there to prevent."

I had to slow down to just over 50mph, when the camera flashed twice?? I mean, I was going no more than 53mph in a 60 limit FFS

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Camera may be calibrated wrongly, or it might have picked up someone rushing up behind you. Hope you don't get a ticket

probably hadnt met its quota and so was programmed to flash innocent people. theyve got to raise money from somewhere you know

seriously tho, see if you get a NIP and take it from there.

Yeah, don't worry about it mate. I've had this happen to me as well. You won't get a ticket for it. Actually happened today as well when I got flashed by a camera facing me... I was doing 40 in a 40 through roadworks on the A14. They do like to give you a scare though.
