Fitting SS Brakelines - Front

Can anybody help with information on how the Stainless Steel Brakelines fit on the front? As you can see on the following 2 pictures the lines pass through two retaining points on the way to the caliper connection. Special mid mounting points are shown.

I have a Z32 BSR-Aerotek kit, which has the hoses and end connectors only. What have others done to retain the front hose to these 2 mid points? The second picture shows retainers, but these are not part of my kit (and suspect not part of the kits fitted by others?).

Thanks for your help. Geoff

Geoff you should have retainers on the lines to locate in the mountings,Where did you get them from because they are wrong frown.gif.

The ones I got from Smithy had the 2 midpoint mounting lugs.

However I have see an S13 with no mounting lugs, the guy had put a groet in the mount point I think to prevent wear.

Jezz.

Geoff,

I've got the same ones as you mate. I was gonna try strap tieing them in place.

Thanks for the feedback. I also had a phone call from a good mate letting me know about the bits missing from my kit, and you can see the missing bits on the Z-Centre picture here

I have sent BSR-Aerotek an e-mail and will follow this up with a call on Monday.

Vijay, I must apologise. I think it was me that let you know about this kit? I'll let you know how I get on. I have also been given the number of an alternative supplier who may be able to help us, but I need to see how I get on with BSR-Aerotek. Like you I have them fixed with ties in the interim.

Thanks everybody. Geoff

Out of interest how much was the set?

This was the text I got back from BSR-Aerotek shortly after I bought the kit from a "Nissan specialist" (at a slightly higher price):

"The price is £46.80 + VAT. This includes postage.

The lines will be made in our swaged Motoflex system which has nickel plated brass fittings so they will never rust. Every single hose is pressure tested to 4000psi before it leaves the factory."

It is a quality product, other than this "failing"!

** Added comment - I notice SE show a picture of a BSR-Aerotek kit on their site for a ZX, in slightly different packaging to mine. (I'm glad Warren is away at the moment and not able to comment!!!) Although I did not buy my kit from SE, they may be willing to talk to me about how they fit them. **

I bought them towards the end of 2000. Perhaps your good offices were still coming to fruition? I did put a post up.

I had the same trouble with a set of goodridge but just left them.

Suppose i should have done something with them. Maybe i will tomorrow.

Just bought a set from SE and they don't have the retaining bolts either, looks like i'll be ringing them tomorrow.

Receive the following back from BSR-Aerotek:-

"firstly we would need to know if you have a moto-flex kit or a re-useable kit,

we can adjust both kits but would need a pattern to work from as we only have one specification, if this is o.k can you post them back to us with a pattern ?"

I will confirm that it is a Motor-flex and will send both new and old hoses to them tomorrow (hopefully). I will let you know how I get on in a future post.

Geoff

Hello Goeff,

Don't 4get to let me know how you get on, then I'll send mine back.

Cheers

Vijay
