Wide Wheel Questions

I'm looking at getting some really wide 18" wheels - bigger than 10" at the rear.

Anyone know who supplies these sizes as 10" seems to be the widest most companies do.

Can I get something like 14" wheels?!

They are to go under Strosek arches...

A guy I knew used to have 365 or 385 tyres on a kit car but god knows where you find these things.

Also what does the J mean ie 10J or 10JJ?

J is the width in inches. people use big spacers with 10's on streotek so I would guess you could go bigger if you got the offset right.

Hi Chris,

There is a company called Image alloy wheels (don't know the web addy) who custom build 3 piece alloys and are based in the UK, they make wheels up to 14" wide!, also BBS makes some 3 piece alloys up to 12" wide, and finally, a company called Fikse wheels in the US (link on T.T.net) make some georgeous 3 piece alloys up to 13.5" wide, but they are about £800 a wheel.

Hope this helps,

Brian

Hmmmm £800 each is a bit out of my price range but i'll take a look.

It appears the biggest commonly available is about 12 or 13 inches for Diablo's and Vipers!

Bet the tyres won't be cheap either but as it's now a weekend car they wont be getting too much wear.

Regards the J thing.

Why do some wheels have one J and some have two JJ?

Probably a stupid question but...

16"! I've seen steam rollers with narrower wheels than that!
