I never realised how BIG they are. I don't know if the 300 will fit down my street.

But I brought it anyway! A Silver NA Manual 2+2

Woohoo. I'll probably crash it on the way home (got to drive it out of b-ham city centre).

The one I got had 2 big bore exhausts on it and I swear I turned on the engine it sounded like some Chevy V8 or something. Just what I need to get revenge on the boy racers revving their corsas by my house.

Thanks for the help guys and at last I'm a 'proper' 300zx forum guy.

Al

ps (unfortunately I got to wait 10 days for it as its an unregistered import and needs stuff doing including security).

This looks like the place.

I went there about a month ago to look at a car, not yours though Alfo, they are very pushy and were talking bullshit to me, they didnt know I already owned a Zed.

The guy I spoke too seemed like a really nice guy and wasn't pushy. Didn't try and force a sale or anything.

How different is that front bumper then? Will it have to be submitted in insurance?

Ok, definitely not World Of Cars but I do know of the place, it is the one that offered to replace gearbox and reduce asking price, still think it is a dubious trader. Have you paid a deposit? If I was back up that way I would have a look for you but I'm not sure when I'll be visiting although I will be soon.

Alfo,

Have you parted with much of a deposit?

Just asking cos it can get messy trying to get money back if they're gonna whack you.

Take the advice on here, DO NOT buy this car blind. If its a dog it has the potential to cost a bl**dy fortune....on the other hand it could be a gem.

I'm sure one of the forum members who lives out that way would be willing to help.....if ive accidentally volunteered the b'ham 300zx branch just give me a :slap:

Hope you end up with a decent motor....you wont regret it one bit, best motor ive owned so far.

Marc

I bought mine without driving it myself! went for a blast in it with the owner and couldn't see any smoke or lights on the dash etc, temp gauge sat in the middle.

When i drove it, it was all over the place and wasnt very positive to drive. Now I have changed the track rod ends and front tyres, reset all the tracking.

It now goes exactly where you point it and corners well.

Could have been worse tho, might have needed new suspension!

If they are going to mot it, i might suggest you get it done again afterwards yourself to be sure. My car came with 7 months but i put it through again to be sure, luckerly all was straight but one of the rear tyres had some damage, so had to change them both - cost me £250, so whats £40 for an mot!?

There are alos Rac car inspectors etc to consider - money well spent.

but hey, you cant buy a pefect car that is 12 years old! We all have our stuff to fix lists, mine is getting shorter, slowly, very slowly!

But youve got a better chance of not buying a total Lemon (Bird) by test driving it.

could be worse, could of bought birds zed, if you're feeling worried check out some of his recent threads, makes me much happier about my shed-x, no offence bird

murf

:nono: -You need to test drive this mate! Better still take someone with you

as said, please don't take this as being a negative reaction to a new car/member etc.-We just don't like folk getting stung! ;)

Aftermarket front bumper. Recognise it, but can't place it

media?id=292930237

the fronts the same as mine "impul"

What's happened to AlFo? Have we scared him off?

Hopefully he has gone back to take the car for a ride. Alfo, hope you dont think we are just being negative about your new pride and joy mate, just want to make sure everything is ok with it.

sorry guys had to pick up t'other half and go shopping and make dinner. I put a deposit down of 200 quid. I'll test drive it before I pick it up and if its rubbish well I'll try my best to get the deposit back since I wont be backing out cus of some other reason. I was told the car ran really well etc etc so if it doesn't then they're lying which 'technically' they can't do.

Znut about the front bumper, how would I submit that to insurance? Aftermarket bodykit? Bonnet/grill? or not at all. Of course anyone could answer this question.

Tell em' mate-won't make any difference! ;)

yeah the price difference isnt much I'll put it down to after market bodykit. puts it up about 6 quid.

Oh yeah to you younger z drivers out there I hope you put your moms on as a named driver. Nearly halved my insurance!

Check out there warranty as well, read the small print and see what is covered and if you do buy the car ring up the warranty people soon after and check you are covered. There is a common problem of dealers saying there is a warranty and not paying the premium to the company resulting in no cover!

I thought that looked like a rip but its not. The interior looks a lot nicer than it does in that picture.
