I am thinking of going for a 350z disk conversion to the front. What is involved in it. I could source calipers and get brand new brembo disks. Would it just be something similiar to Smithys skyline caliper brackets??

Sorry I aint no expert.

350Z frontbrakes are plug&play.

only thing needed is the holes in the hub must be drilled out to a larger diameter, since the caliper bolts of the 350Z are larger

(and you'll need at least 17" wheels to be able to fit these brakes)

Hi Dave i did this conversion to mine this Feb and its a great upgrade.

Allthough i did need 3mm spacers to clear the calipers.

excuse my ignorance buts whats the advantage in the 350 brake as compared to Skyline upgrades or even fitting the Evo setup?

I used the 350Z| setup with Skyline wheels and it was no trouble at all. No spacers needed.

Thanks guys. The alloys I already have on needed 4mm spacers. But no doub it just depends on the wheels that I will be going for.

So once I replace the calipers with 350z ones, does that allo me to fit in larger disks or could I just use the same size. (getting new brembos in July regardless, so I would just pick the size to suit.)

Thanks,

You have to fit the discs and calipers at the same time.

Smithy will have appropriate discs, MJP has some good ones too, or you could use genuine Nissan ones (if you feel rich).

How do they differ from GTR brembo's ? are they the same?

Hi

I'm very interested in this one as the standard brakes are rubbish.

Do you really need 17" wheels?

Spencer

I'm just in the process of buying R34 GTR Brembos for a conversion.

Discs,Pads and Calipers

"they are in good condition few marks, discs have loads of life in them still, pads are half worn" ? Do you think £550 is a fair price??

Yes, they won't fit inside 16" wheels.

Slightly under average (in a good way) for a front pair, very good for a full set.

good point. That is just for the front. He wants £600 but I'm talking him down to £550 for a quick deal.

He went for £550 really quickly.. makes me think I'm paying too much! argh

still for sale
