Help Needed Please

Hi all can anyone give me any advice i have a nissan 300zx z32 non turbo manual, had it super chipped 2 weeks ago since then some times it will start and some times it wont if it wont start if u put it in gear and turn the starter it will start up coughing and spluttering smells of petrol, then when you set off and touch the throttle the engine cuts down, as your driving along if you lift off then put the throttle back down again it coughs and some times back fires has anyone got any ideas on what the problem could be any help would be much appriciated :bow:

Check that the long blue connector that goes onto the ECU is seated properly, if the centre nut holding it on is not tight enough it wont connect properly and too tight it tends to bow, again not connecting properly. This can cause the coughing and spluttering and sometimes failure to start as you mentioned. Thats the easiest cure, from then on its faulty chip or soldered incorrectly.

I had the same problem apart from failure to staert after a chip was installed I now need a new ECU.

Do'nt know mate I sent it away to be done?? I have not looked inside the ECU to see either. Mine was not a superchips one though.
