hi everyone, will be buying a 300zx on the weekend and after much research i am still none the wiser about which model to go for!! twin turbo or non. i have 7k burning a hole in my back pocket and would love some advice from the pro's. which is a better car..the twin turbo monster or the normally asperated. are there definite ones to avoid...do the turbo's give trouble all the time. i really ant the turbo model ...but i don't want it to be a bank account drainer.

any help from you guy's would be top notch..

thanks joe

for 7k there is some fantastic examples on this very forum for sale, there is a buying guide somewhere on this site

IMHO if you want a twin tub, and get an non tub, you will regret it

7k? you could get an absolute fookin blinder, take your time is the best bit of advice and dont let anyone rip u off, u can get a good clean manual twin turbo with a few tasty mods for under £4500 at the moment, so 7k should get u something awesome, just do your research first, and if your buying one away from this owners club try and get someone who knows a bit to help out.

there is also the thought of, do you want 2 seater (swb) or 4 seater (2+2)

targa or slicktop

manual or auto

F%ck me Jacks...your 300 is awesome...another question is the targa quite stable ..i'm mean not a bone shaker?

your right.. i imagine the 2+2 is not really a 2+2 and as for the targa or slick...my only concern is the stabillity of teh targa is it ok?

I Think Either Will Be A Good Car As Long As Its Been Looked After

thanks dude

these are photoshops of what i want it to look like

it is an uk, maual, twin turbo, targa, which is very comftorble to drive

The targa has the advantages of a convertable but without the disadvatages (stablity..etc).

I own both an NA and TT. The NA is marginaly cheaper on fuel for everyday driving, and slightly cheaper on Insurance, both have been reliable and never let me down, both look great, both are great to drive, but only one of them leaves you buzzing everytime you press the loud pedal and leaves your passengers shocked/excited/scared ;)

thanks dude! well id love to tell u how much im paying for it, lets just say its a LOT less than 7k and its only done 3,000 miles since an nisstek engine rebuild and new turbos. so hopefully thatll give u an idea how cheap u can get if u look around. where abouts in essex r u anyhow?

Leigh-on sea....the story is that...the 300zx is my favourite...but my brother owns a twin turbo supra and i hae to say it is fantastic...but i think the 300 has it on looks.

that is just another members car, but with my color scheme and different back end (no spoiler) look in the rides section for mac1

they can be very expensive beasts to run and maintain, but like said 7k should get you a minter, and all you have to do is look after it and it should treat you well

hope you get a goodun bud

asian300zx is selling his in the cars for sale bit of the forum, personaly i think thats not bad priced for such low mileage (look at that a free plug!) assuming its a TT manual your after? (which lets face it are the best!) and targa tops are a definate must for the summer, gotta look good!
