Its been suggested that the "stuttering of my car" at WOT could be due to the CAS needing cleaning. By this im guessing all i can do is clean the contacts from the PTU to the CAS(think they the same wire loom?) so touch of wet/dry to the contacts to clean them the best route?

Anything else i could do to isolate the cas to be at fault? the car runs fine at all speeds and starts fine as long as you dont use WOT. Im gonna try swapping over the maf this weekend as well, but the maf thats fitted isnt that old (circa 2yrs..) Thinking its more likely the CAS no...

cheers guys

Have you checked the voltage on the TPS? Clean the throttle bodies and all the electrical connectors, inc temp sensor etc.

does it start to stutter as soon as you give it WOT it or does it start to stutter as soon as it hits full boost (at WOT) ?

Have you checked the TPS voltage ?

fuel pressure ok ?

The CAS is very sensitive to water and other fluids, so do not use any fluid type contact cleaners on it.

Hi Eric i used a spray electrical contact cleaner.

Is this OK?

hi - looking to do this myself - throttle bodies..are the two outer tubes going into the engine?

not sure if its just wot or the boost to be honest, thing is by the time ive got wot the boost is already climbing fast, then the huge hesitation and the revs drop/climb/drop/climb around 4-5k.

Thing is the car drives absolutly fine at other throttle positions. Going to try a different maf this weekend, although starting to think its not that. I will be going round the bonnet cleaning all the contacts then, but what with... not a huge fan of sanding away too much corruption, but if electrical contact cleaner not the way forward what is the best way?

Cheers for all the help on this guys...

and as for checking tps voltage? the TPS is the bit on the righthand throttle body as you look from the front of the engine, 3 wires coming out of it i think.. which one to check and what sort of voltage / throttle posisiton am i looking for? guessing its a +ve im looking for and earth the other bit of the multimeter?

>> Hi Eric i used a spray electrical contact cleaner.

best is not to use this stuff on the CAS itself but only on the plug (wiring harness side)

could be a loose connector somehwere (injector/coil/PTU/CAS) or bad plugs.

I personally use a dremel with (very) small grinding bit to clean the pins.

works very well. (use some dialectric grease on the connectors when done)

Most contact cleaners don't seem to help much and sometimes even make things worse.
