well i had a little break down at midnight last night the one tyre on my trailer blew out no spare so i thought i'll call the aa not used them in this 12month subscription. so firstly i get told the car and trailer need recovering to which i said the car is fine, the trailer is the problem, so they said 60-90 mins to come out at that time of night thought they said they reach breakdowns within the hour so anyway there i am waiting. 12.30 am phone rings it's the aa cant get a local garage to pick you up he said will be another 60 mins so i though ok still within the time he quoted. to cut a long story short 2.20 this morning a recovery waggon turned up and then only for the trailer because it's all they could get. as for local garage they sent a garage from fookin swindon who did not even know cheltenham. think i might go with the rac this year. :x:  rant over

RAC and AA are no better/worse than each other from my experience although at least the AA don't try to sell you parts you don't need.

I was waiting on the M4 a few years ago when my daily runner blew up. I was left waiting for over 4 hours. Luckily, it was not summer time. But was in the middle of the day.

well it has 4 wheels nearly started singing 3 wheels on my wagon lol :x:

I have found (in my very limited experience) that Green Flag are pretty good. They send someone from a local garage so they tend to arrive fairly quickly.

All the recovery services are going to be pretty much the same, and they all use Local recovery collections if there own are not available.

AA will always be the best however, since they are the largest with more Drivers, Trucks and local recovery services than anybody else, and therefore have a better record than anyone else.

I've used the AA about half a dozen times in the past (never with either of the zed's) and have been pretty lucky, having been attended to in way under an hour in all cases.
