In the 'Masterclass' article on page 92-95 of the April '06 JTuner mag, there is an interview with Clive Seddon of RC Developments, Evo specialists. On page 95 Clive is asked what his least favourite Japanese car is, and why, and he responds:-

"The Nissan 300ZX. It's atrocious in every way: looks, engine, everything. I won't accept one in the workshop!"

And to make matters worse, JTuner have chosen to use this quote as a large text caption on page 94's main picture!! I know it's only one man's opinion - which he is entitled to, even though he's wrong (obviously ;)) - but I find it a little unfair for a supposedly unbiased publication to highlight this derogatory comment.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr   :mac1:

Could he be referring to the Z31? Still unfair to highlight this however. I guess that controversy sells!

well we should send a letter to jtuner telling them that there mag is crap, and no zed owner will be buying it in the future

tell them to look in dec 05 issue of japanese performance, and then tell us they are crap (a proper jap mag) :hyper:

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

yeah bet if i asked him for some work then he will be like yeah sure. then prob drop few bolts in the intake and be like oh it aint my fault but its gonna cost you like 2 grand (dont ask just bad experience from a friend of mine with a 200)

I think the opinion of someone who is a specialist in the japanese version of the XR3i means bog all LOL

That comment is not on.....I love the look, and sound of a Zed dam i can tell if there's one outside my house just by the sound now.The evo is like the Ali G of the Jap car seen.

i wont be buying that rag again,as for evo's i've never had a problem leaving one behind,it seems alot of so called tuners who cant work on zed's decide to slate them instead of learning to work on them.

Paul

 LOL "the japanese version of the XR3i...."

but what is the Z32 the japanese equivalent of?

The Zed is like wearing an Armani suit, it shows you have style and refinement and you care about your appearance.

The evo? well its like wearing a shell suit.

Nuff sed

What a to55er, the 300zx and z-car range are the cars that made Japanese sports cars what they are, not to mention an Accolade of awards and praise from the entire motoring press during its launch and production.

Well nearly everytime ive been to a drag strip/0-60 sprint, the RC Developments Evo has broke, so they must be really good then!!

Personally i'd go to Norris designs if i was gay enough (Sorry Karlos LOL) to own an evo!!

Rich

an evo is just a penis extension with all them spoilers. The zed is a car that still looks good today as well as when it was new.

i'd go down there mate say you want this that and the other doing, ask how many 300's he has worked on, and what he thinks of them. (as he'll prob say yeah i've done loads and there a good car, which we all no that already, with a small recorder in your top pocket, then send it off to jtuner and ask them to get back in touch with him for his coment

I know a few people who dont like the look of the Z32. Its all down to personal opinion. Although I do like the Evos Im still not sure whether I would buy on or not.

Its just the guys opinion. Remember the magazine is still press. They emphasis things they thing people would read.

:mac1: not blowing my own trumpet i would put my beast on looks wise against any evo on the planet and im sure the beast would come out on top put to a un biast vote

id of thought if he's "such a gr8 mechanic" then hed like a challenge, obviously working on zeds takes a bit more graft than most. cona you should definetly go ask for him to do some work then write in to the mag about it!

Each to their own. I can't stand the look of Evos look like chaved up Taxis to me.

If he said it about anything other than a Z you'd be laughing. Who cares what he says anyway ....

To be fair to him most of he top tuners in the UK wont work on them, i know i had to bribe RB's with chocolate hobnobs AND cadburys fingers before they would do any work on mine ;)
