Stock TT auto speed with no speedo...

Looking for a bit of advice from any stock J-Spec Auto TT owners here.

As I've posted before, my speedo doesn't work (It's not the kph/mph converter, checked that - either the auto box sensor or the speedo itself, still to diagnose...) but I'm having to use my Zed at the moment as my Cavalier has decided to go all unreliable (jealous of the Zed I think).

Unfortunately, my girlfriend was in a very bad car accident a couple of days ago and I'm travelling from Colchester to Ipswich hospital to see her as much as I can (she's lucky to be alive) but I obviously have no idea how fast I'm ever going on the A12...

Could anyone advise me how fast 2500rpm is in 4th on a stock J-Spec TT Auto? And how fast is 3000rpm? I've been doing 3000rpm mostly, but would be nice to know in case I see a police car etc.

My head is all over the place at the mo', I don't want to get caught speeding to make things worse!

Sorry to hear about your girlfriend, wishing her a speedy recovery

2000rpm is 58mph

2500rpm is 71mph

3000rpm is 86mph

on an Auto TT. Hope that helps.

Thanks mate, she's broken her neck and her back, but should make a full recovery in time. Poor girl, wasn't her fault either.

And thanks for those figures too, that's very helpful.

  Blimey!!

Wish her my best bud, Hope she has a speedy recovery

I'd guess at the speed sensor on the gearbox bud, If i had one i'd pop it in the post bud! :(

Keep strong and all the very best

Thank God she survived, I hope all goes well for both of you, but especially for your young lady. Ill be praying for her. Kenny.

Thanks guys, I'll send on your kind wishes.

She had an op yesterday to fuse two verebrae in her neck, which thankfully went well. Seeing her today with her big metal head brace sticking into her skull was quite a shock though, she looked so fragile.

Still, I'm very grateful that she's still here, and from here on (touch lots of wood) it's all recovery time.

I'll let you know as she gets better.

Cheers,

Christian
