Hi Guys.

I hope someone can help me?

I own a UK spec TT. I know it has DIP-Dim headlights. I am about to fit HIDs for dipped & high beam. But, i have been told i need to disable the dip-dim circuit!

Can anyone tell me how i do this?

I know where the dip dim box is. I was told by Luke Borg you need to disable it, but would not tell how? Can anyone tell me which wires? Or whether i can just unplug the box? A lot of people selling HID's, but no one can tell me correct install. :headvswal

Regards

Kev

Don't need to bother mate.

I fitted the Roxie Hart kit to my UK spec car and simply connected the wires to the existing loom.

When I switch on the side lights, there is insufficient power to activate the ballast boxes so nothing happens until I switch on the regular dipped beam anyway.

Richard,

Although it seems that there is insufficient power to activate the igniters in the ballasts there is indeed some power going through the boxes. The low voltage can in fact be damaging the ballasts as the electronics will constantly think there is a "fault" (sorry for not being able to explain it better - brain is tired from long day). If I were you I'd sort out the work-around as this will definitely increase the life expectancy of your ballasts/igniters.
