245 + Labour for a fu*king Pipe

My Z went in for a full service + cam belt.

If that did not cost me enough money!

The pipe on the power steering pump was leaking.

When they removed the pipe it fell to bits, and now they want £245 for a new one,

which they can’t get until end of march.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

hhhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are trying to get a local company to make one for £50 wish me luck...

Sorry to here about your problems, had something similar on mine when I picked it up , ordered the part from Hiteq it was there in a couple of days and got Andyduff to fit it.

Made up with the results and it was a dam site cheaper than anywhere else.

Good luck

Mark

Any industrial pip and fitting manufacturer will make that in 5 mins.

Try someone like Pirtec, they have franchises all over the place.

If all else fails take your old pipe and they will be able to reuse the old banjos etc.

Sorry tooley, cant sell the wheels they are the only things that are reliable on the car.

Richie - what a bugger!!! If its the same pipe (comes off the pump, round the bottom front of the engine onto the rack) then the cost from Nissan UK is £150 inc VAT. Not a terrible job to do just need patience wink.gif

CheerZ,

Hi Ritchie,

Sorry to hear about your dilema, are those clear side indicators on your front bumper. If they are, where did you get them and how much were they?

Mark H

MarkHanley....

If you get stuck make me an offer smile.gif

Tim

that should cost bugger all to make!!! I had a braided brake pipe made for my motorcross bike which had similar fixings and was 3 and a half foot long. That only cost me £15. !!!

so dont get ripped off!

I've got one from the car I'm dismantling. You can have for £20. Any good.

Mine has a leak too and Hiteq gave me the part number sticker off one they had just supplied to one of you guys. Can't find it right now but they said it was £125.00

If either of those used ones are in fairly good nick i'll have one.

I better find that part number to confirm it though.

Just to clear things up, the pipe that TT Tim has shown is NOT the one I replaced on MCZXs car wink.gif I think the pipe shown is the return from the rack to the pump. The pipe I replaced was longer and has metal piping for the rest of its journey across the subframe and onto the rack...

CheerZ,

Andy

Thanks Andy, I couldn't remember which one this was and didn't know which one Richie needed so thought it safer to photograph it, just knew it was one of the hoses from my replacement PS pump that I didn't use. biggrin.gif

Tim

PS: You are a mind of useful information biggrin.gif

Will have the car back today,

The pipe got fixed at a local hydraulic engineering company

The total cost for running a Z through a service at Nissan is as follows.

60,000 Mile C Service & Cam Belt £580.00

Power rack pipe repair £25.00

Power rack pipe labour £108.00

Total Cost £713

MY COMMENT ON THIS

UN FU*KING BELIEVABLE
