Any News on the Conzult software???

Hello all, I was just wondering if it has been developed yet?

Cheers,

Brian

Stay tuned for a little bit longer Brian - I should have the first UK test kit shortly. Eric is still putting it all together.

Danny

Cheers Danny, maybe then we can both sort out that wierd detonation problem with both our cars....

Brian, here's the scoop:

The Windows software and the communication-interface are both finished.

I'm currently working on a version for a Palm, which will be a stripped version of the PC-version of the software. (just engine monitoring/logging/tests)

Only thing that is left is that we still haven't been able to find the connector that plugs into the consult-plug of the car...so if anyone can help us with this it could speed up things quite a bit.

We made "something" that plugs into the plug and it works fine, but it's a bit fragile and is not meant to be plugged in and out many times

You can also piggyback the wires of the interface onto the wires of the consultplug of the car, which makes it permanent.

As Danny mentioned, I'm about to send a "promotion"-ConZult to him and Jeff, so they can show/test it on UK and Jspec-cars and see how much interest there really is.

I sort of agreed with Danny that he and Jeff will do the distribution of the ConZult in the UK.

Prices haven't been set yet, but will probably be around 210GBP for the PC-version.

The Palm-version, once finished, will be cheaper..

Eric,

Is there any chance of this working on other PDA's like IPaq's running MS Pocket PC ?

Thats funny, I was about to ask the same question..

And the PC Version Eric - that you suggest £210 for, is that for the read-only, or full version? (crosses fingers and hopes it's the latter)...

That even funnier, I was just about to ask as well! Im sure I could buy it through works budget!! Just rename the PDC ZX300 and away we go!

Aaron, the PC-version will be the full version.

(and has even more functionality then Nissan's Consult)

Other PDA's (with color-screens) would actually be my preference as well, but it's essential the PDA has a serial-port and not all PDAs have this..

Eric,

You say that it's being ported for the palm, will there be a version available for the Psion, I use a 5mx?

Many thanks, look forward to buying a copy when it hits our shores biggrin.gif

Tim

Phuong, I certainly won't forget your side of the pond wink.gif

Tim, at the moment I'm only planning on porting it to PalmOS...and maybe WindowsCE.

We'll see how much interest there is.

If we need to port it to every little OS that's around, we won't be finished until the year 2025

hi mate are you trying to find the plug on the car......if so under the drivers side dash just above the fuses poss behind the plastic wall.....kinda behind the bonnet release.....................................
