Just thought I'd pop this little pic of a current work-in-progress ;)

It looks quite bright here, but that's the flash playing tricks

Most pieces are cut out, just got to do the rear cards, and whatever else I decide to cover :D

Smoothed Door handles, not seen that done to the inside before ;)

Looking good, very neat job so far, but I see you've left the tricky bits till last :D

I'm trying a new style ;) once you're in, you stay in

Just waiting for some more good weather, as I can't do the gluing indoors :D

All front panels complete, just got to take all of the rear out now, just for two remaining panels.

Again, still looks quite bright, but it isn't that bad.

Just got to find a decent, local, upholsterer to stitch my handbrake gator, and was considering seeing if he/she could re-do the steering wheel as well.

Looking well smart! can i ask how long it's taken you?

Thank you.

How long? Well I started cutting the leather last Sunday, and then did all of the glueing work and final trimming in the sunshine of Wednesday, started about 10 in the morning, and finished about 2 in the afternoon. But I had an advantage, I've done it before, so I've learned from my previous mistakes. The bigest thing is to take your time, never rush it.

Leather was from e-bay (From THESE PEOPLE ) I bought a 9' x 8' full hide and I've still got some left, but wont be all that much once I've completly finished every bit I want to do.

The glue is solvent based Evo Stick, from my local B&Q (about £10 for a tin)

I wasn't happy with the finish on the piece that goes between the glove box and the door panel, so I'm going to re-do that one, hence why the glove box isn't installed :D Also I'm having a new red handbrake gator made up, that's why it's not there ;)

I've now got the rear panels out of the car, so will be doing them this week.

I'm very pleased with the end result so far, but now I've got to give the whole interior a good clean up.

Going to redo mine from grey vinyl to cream. How much is it for cream leather in £££ to do a entire interior (not seats lol)

  • Author

I bought a full hide, which cost £95 + £12 P&P from e-bay (link posted above) If he's got cream, then he's worth a try, I found him a very nice bloke, and very fast delivery.

Looks very nice Dave :hyper:

Nice one. I was wondering what a dark red was like with black seats. Now I have the choice of same as yours or cream. Got any more pics which include the front seats too?

Looks like an excellent job done there Dave!!

Now, hurry up and bring it to a meet :D

Thanks. Sorry Dave, but those were the only pics I took today. Once I get the rear panels done this week, I'll be back at the car and will take a few more, but the car isn't at this address so i can't take any untill then.

TBH & IMHO, if I did Cream, then I'd go for a FULL-ON job and have all the seats done as well as the panels, as I don't think that Cream & Black really go together (Like I say, IMHO ;) )

Thanks Rich.

I wish I could, but it isn't insured or Taxed at the mo, and I'm awating the rear spoiler to arrive then it's got to go into the bodyshop for some much-needed work. But saying that, it would be nice if the spoiler arrived this week and I could get it into the workshop for next week, then it could be down at The Boat meet :D

looks great Dave. ive always wanted mine done. i think vinyl looks the dog's danglers.

Thanks Dave, but it's not vinyl, this is a full leather re-trim as I've just taken all the vinyl, that I did two years ago, out!
