Hi,

Has anybody had a problem with Datascan not connecting? Everything seems to be ok, but not getting any connection with v1.3 and v1.4??

Cheers,

Bart

Hi Bart,

I had another look at the Blazt site last night and there was a page that showed some different settings from the ones that were displayed last night (products tab, Datascan software, shows '54' in the Hex address box). Not convinced it will be the answer, but might be worth a look.

Also, from the site .............

What do I need to do to get it working?

1. Plug cable between the laptop serial port and car Consult Diagnostics port

2. Turn your computer on, start Datascan

3. Turn on the ignition, but dont crank the engine

4. Click the connect button on Datascan

5. You should see your ECU part number being displayed

6. Choose data display and pump the accelerator pedal

7. You should see the TPS gauge move

8. Start your engine and you should see all the gauges spring to life

Did we actually try starting the Datascan then turn on the ignition or was the ignition on when the Datascan software was fired up?, could it be as simple as that

Hi mate,

I've been messing around with it today, still no joy. I even got a serial to USB converter to see if that would help, not a chance.

Seem to have tried everything. I did read on twinturbo.net that the software needs to be unlocked. Can anyone spread any light on this? I've unlocked datalog viewer, but not done anything with Datascan..

Bart..

It's getting right on my t1ts. I have tried to contact them, so I'll see if anything comes back.

I just checked to see if I had .net framework installed. Seem to think I read somewhere that this is required. Is this the case? I'll give it a try..

i have a similar problem, basically mine will connect to my car but not my mates S14.

Now his will connect to his car but not mine

Very strange it is.

Have you used it on anything else?

Sorry, i mean other than a zed

Sorry mate, no other cars. Could really do with this working. Just tried it after installing .net, nothing..

I would give blatz a call on 07946354751.

He is the uk distributor so he will either be able to replace or hopefully help you out

Hi I'm new to all of this, what is the computer program for?

Hi I'm new to all of this, what is the computer program for?

Hi mate,

Basically, it allows you to see what your engine is doing by giving you real time readings from all the sensors. It also allows you to run test and diagnostics and read error codes (although you can read the from the LED on your ecu anyway, but this is much easier). You can get another program called conzult which is very good, but is about £250 where this one is about £60.

Have a look at the website: http://www.blazt.biz/

If your interested, PM Blazt (although you will need to subscribe to do that) or email martin@blazt.biz. He is a UK distributor and as you can see from my posts, he's a good guy to deal with.

Cheers,

Bart

Thought I would come and check you got it today, glad it worked!!! Spoke to Jason and he has made hundreds of these going all over the world and you had the first one that didn't work, aren't u lucky!!!

For anyone wishing to contact me then email is best.

Cheers

Martin.

Martin,

Thanks for the speedy delivery of my USB Datascan, maybe now I’ll get to the bottom of my poor performance!
