Hi

Took my alloys off for a refurb......all bar one.

It is stuck like shite to a blanket :hurl:

I have tried heavily lubing it with wd40, and hitting it from both front and back with a mallet, but the bloody thing wont move :nono:

I am hoping there is an easy solution.....so please let this simpleton know what it is :slap: I did look it up on google and found it could be stuck to the axle

Doubt it makes any difference but they are the mondena alloys :)

Cheers Guys

just keep hitting it with the mallet and it will shock off eventually, alloys tend to weld themselves very well onto the bud lol

Yep, as Mike says, keep hitting it on oppsoite side (say 12o'clock and 6 o'clock) the rust may have siezed it.

I had the same problem (even after severe malletting). Generous amounts of WD40 around where the hub meets the wheel sorted it out.

Leave a couple of nuts on so it doesnt fall face down on the floor, let the hand brake off and bash away from behind the wheel turning the rim each time you hit it. WD40 will do no good at all as its the reaction caused by two metals meeting that has caused the wheel and hub to swell with corrosion......... no trust together as suggested. A wire brush and copper grease when its off is the only answer.

Jase (Kwik Fit Manager and seasoned wheel beater!!)

someone has got to say it so im getting in there first

have you undone all the wheel bolts :smash:

jack the zed right up get someone to hold a plank of wood behind the wheel and hit it with all your might with a big hammer, a good shock is the only way it will come off bud :smash:

just be carefull jacking it up and belting it while it is on the jack ....use axle stands as well, i nearly got reaped by a Mk3 cortina years ago doing the same thing.....

" wolfrace superslots alloys " if my mate hadnt pulled me out of the way it would have fallen down on my neck .....

Cheers for the help guys.

The rear is up on axle stands so it looks like a case of brute force. In the past I have felt like taking a hammer to her, so now is my revenge!!

Drive around Tamworth they seem to fall off pretty easy there

LMFAO!

Put 2 nuts back in about half way, and slowly lower the car back to the ground, the weight of the car should free it, just don't drop it to fast!

I have tried heavily lubing it with wd40, and hitting it from both front and back with a mallet

OOOOER mister

leave it in the bedroom will ya

i bet iff there was a £20 note behind it it would be off in a jiffy

I managed to whack the bugger off from behind....

Hang on a minute that does not sound right :x:
