Anyone know where i can get a cheap set of brake discs(front) Just had the pads done and now they're squeeling like buggery every time i pull to a stop! Its driving me crazy!

Featured Replies

Have you got the shims in place and is there a smear of Copperslip on the backs of the pads ? You may not need new discs at all.

No, there was a little piece of one of the shims missing, so i didn't put em on! Can that really make em squeel? I thought i'd braked to hard before they were properly bedded in and burnt then discs!

Get some new shims buddy!!

Grease em up, and the squeeling will go!

2 shims per pad and a corner clip on each pad 8 shims and 4 corner clips needed mate +copper grease .

Cheers mate the corner clips missing isnt a big problem this just keeps the 2 shims together when fitting shims the pins hold the pads in place maybe you just need to take out pads and copper grease backs of pads and shims.I take it youve got the clip witch clips over the 2 pins in place.

yOU MEAN THE SPRINGY PIN THING THAT HOLDS THE ACTUAL PINS IN PLACE? iF SO, NO, I'VE ONLY GOT ONE, HAD TO MAKE SHIFT SOMETHING TO HOLD THE OTHER PINS!

No no them its a flat peice of spring steel and it clips ontop of the pads it is flat and has a hoop on the end its ment to go a certain way up not sure what way though
