Hi all.

As car has been parked up on the drive over the last few (3) COLD weeks without moving I have noticed white "salad cream" like substance on my oil filler cap. Now I have recently had a new engine in which has only done about 800 miles since full rebuild. I have been assured that all genuine Nissan gaskets and parts have been used. What do you guys think it could be, condensation in the engine due to not driving it, or somthing more sinister like the head gaskets going etc?

Had all sorts of trouble with her from the start so hope it is nothing. Fingers crossed.

normally this is caused by condensation in the crankcase, due to driving short distances or from the oil not getting up to full temp.

hey bud aint seen you about for a while, youve missed some good meets

got no idea about the car the though lol

hope it is ok though

Yes Its Condensation My 328 has done it (yes bring on the jokes  )

Just driving 3 mins a day to work (bone idle I know)

Gives you heart attack when you first see it though doesn,t it

True - it can indicate head gasket failure but my Rav-4 developed this after 1 week of local driving when I bought it.

I cleaned the mayonnaise off the filler cap and 18 months/15k (longer journey) miles later it never re-appeared. No oil or water loss so everything is OK.

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks guys.

Was starting to get a bit worried, when you first see it you think Christ how much is this going to cost!!

Hi stellaZ havnt been around I know, its because the Z has been off the road since July and going to meets without the Z was terrible last time so had to give the Zed scene a miss. Will be coming back a soon as the Zed is back on the road. Its had a new engine in and the auto box is getting sorted as we speak.

So hope to see all you guys soon!
