I can not recall the last time i had an enjoyable drive in my car, there has always been something or another, got in it today to go to work, and missing and farting like a twat..

back firing, clouds of black smoke from the unburnt fuel, and generally pissing me off....

time to burn the fooker, ive thrown enough cash at it over the last 7 months, and im about all lost of interest in the ******* thing........

ive just stood for 20 mins in the chuffing snow, trying all connectors, coil packs the lot, and still the ****er wont run tidy.

Sleep on it matey, don't make any rash decisions :(

Any car can break down - even a brand new one - but there aren't many cars that give so many 'smiles-per-mile'. One day, you'll look back and laugh!! ;)

Or buy an NA and have no probs  :x: :D

T-Pot well aware of all the problems you have had with your car matey, you are more than welcome to bring it up and we will have a look and a little sort out FOC matey

nooooooooo mart dont do it mucker

T-pot, dont listen to them... you'll end up keeping it and then have to sell your right kidney to get out of debt!!! I think all the people who tell you to keep it should pay for it when it goes wrong in the future, should you decide to keep it.. sounds fair :)

I know I dont know your full story but if it is a problematic Z then get rid and buy another that is a better car....buy another now and change all the new bits off this one onto the new one if poss, then sell on.

I know they are b******s when they start playing up, but usually it is something simple when they are popping and banging. The connector to the CAS unit is one area that we seem to forget but it does corrode and cause misfires and bad starting. Take the connector off and clean both sides (cable and CAS unit). Usuallt doea the job.

mines take nearly 2 years to get to a stage where im semi happy with it. Only the gearbox still pisses me off, apart from that im happy with it.

At least you got to drive yours mines in bits in a garage in Bedford waiting for either the trader to cough up or me to win the lottery!!!!!!

Hope you get it sorted mate!

His has been in bits in a garage waiting for new engine.....and then again in bits waiting for turbos....

Gutted mate, I know EXACTLY how you feel...as I'm kinda going through that stage.

FFS!-mate, I feel for you, think i would be taking up Ryans offer tho' before

cremating it! :(

its prob only connection problems . dig in . try and do most of the basic checks yourself .cleaning terminals etc and im sure most of you problems will be gone.

I'm going to have a go at the connectors either tomorrow or the weekend, to be sure i check them all, what do i need to check, and where are they ?

I know for the coil pack and injection ones, are there others i should check ?

Thanks for all the support and pm's etc

basically get yourself some contact cleaner and clean every single connector you can get to in the engine bay.

Vijay

check & clean

cas connection

ecu temp senser/connection

coilpack/injectors

fuel temp senser/

spark plugs and do a boost leak check
