You Scots are indeed a tough breed.

Anyone who dons a kilt without undies and runs through fields of thigh-high thistles deserves respect IMO

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I thought I knew Scotland until my company was awarded at Job at Dounreay Nuclear Power Station. The weather up here is unbelievable, in the summer it could be raining everywhere else in the UK, but up there it could be amazingly hot and sunny. The same happens the other way round, great weather in the rest of UK and blistering snow storms and that could be anytime year round.

The beaches are like those on tropical islands.

As for kilts I have never seen someone where a kilt day in day out until I went to the doctors up here. But wearing a kilt is amazing, no joke, pulling power galore, just ashame my girlfriend is usually there  .

Sorry mate, back to the thread, I wish I would be able to fit the Tailgate into the back of the van. Hope you find a way.

In the summer the midges are very very irritating where I work, good old avon skin so soft does the trick though. Keeps the mini biters out of the way

i've been in touch with a couple of companies and when i said to them the size and weight of the object prices went to 3 figures.

have you got some links, contact info for some more reasonable courriers? maybe i've asked the wrong people.

wish i could help as well mate........ although i may have a solution... but its a long shot!

Is basingstoke any good to you?

something else i could do for you is i am planning a trip to liecster soon , to see chunk , i could take it there for you its closer maybe cheaper to get courier from there to deliver ?? just a thought

sorry mate. not much good i'm afraid. however a very helpful lady at courierssomething or other.com has just told me this...

http://www.bookmein.net has a service on it which sends a text message directly to a load of delivery drivers (100's apparently). If it so happens that they are collecting or delivering near you they give you call to try arrange getting your goods onboard their van. they say the goods are still insured up to £10,000.

Basically your speaking to a driver and sorting the details out directly with him, cutting out the courier company, and paying a fraction of the price. All sounds to good to be true but going to give it a go anyway and see what happens.

Check out the website, if its all legit what a great idea for the rest of us.

Sounds like homers for lorry drivers to me. Little bit on the side, nothing wrong with that if it is true. Everyone should have a wee sideline for money. Just a shame noone wants Engineers for jobs around the home  , could be cause we charge too much
