Apparently i can up the boost on my motor, does anyone know how to do this? is it a big job?

you can do it for about £2 and will take you about 15 min to do, although i would recommend you get a boost gauge as standard ones are crap.

all u need to do is fit 2 welding tips into the pressure lines to ur actuators and job done, someone on hear will have some pics for u im sure!

Only if it's a TT

does anyone know how to do this?

Yes, lots :p

is it a big job?

Not a big one, there's 2 ways of doing a boost upgrade,

1, Cheaply

2, Correctly

Obviously the 2nd choice is by far better.

chioce 1.......

Mig tips, varied sizes=different boost, re-map and a boost gauge. The boost gauge is a must with this setup, do-not skimp on £50-80 cos it'll cost you an engine in the future.

choice 2

Electronic boost controller (£200ish-£500ish), re-map and boost gauge. Boost gauge not so important with this option, but i'd still reccommend one. Whoever sets up the controller, needs to understand what they are doing and not just guessing!!

So, 0.8mm Mig weld tips would blow my engine? The link above recommends 1.0mm or 1.2mm, but nowhere has ever heard of tips that big!

..........and got a free pen? :smash:

You tempted to go with the tips then? Have you looked at the profec B boost controller? An entry level controller but very popular and very good. Don't forget of course - the tips won't do anything to effect the fueling or timing, so is only ever half the job done.

I'm having real problems getting hold of a boost controller! Or even a boost gauge for that matter! It appears Worcestershire is sh*t!

First take a look at andy p's site for info on socketing ur ecu and fitting a chip to allow for better fueling at higher boost.
