Absolutly everything I have bought for this car that fiberglass is now ****ing up.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. To clarify, are you saying that your recommendation would be to avoid fibreglass? :wack:

I personally wouldn't touch the stuff, much prefer the finish/fit of GRP, IMO of course.

Sorry to hear of your problems tho mate :(.

Cheap tatt being knocked out as quality stuff as well :x: :(

give us a few examples please mate, show me the light of your wisdom

40 miles from having bodywork done.

Front bumper split, ights poped out and lost repeaters because it flexes

Had it fixed and suspention raised

30 miles later, lost replacement refectors, bumper split again, reparied again and this time fiberglass wings have split going down a strait road for 10 miles.

So my oppinon stands, its poo

Sorry to hear :(

although just to add.....about 80% of every aftermarket zed kit is Fibreglass, which means loads of zed owners with fibreglass bumpers, skirts..etc

Well i suppose something like fibre glass would need torsional stiffness so it would not twist or buckle. So perhaps some sort of ribbing or a metal sub frame.

My big rear spoiler is all fibre glass and it is very rigid.

Spoiler aint waffer thin though are they, poor guy has spent fookin thousands on a paint job and this is how the body parts live up on the road :(

Bloody hell Chris now whats happened? I have a urathane front but the rest of the kit is fiberglass and I have not had a single problem.

Are we talking front wings?

Oh right, got the wrong end of the stick i thought he fabricated stuff himself - duh!

So yeah a bum deal for sure :(

All I have to say about fiber POXYCRAP glass is it brakes when you ding it, it brakes when you dont and it splits and cracks when you do neither.

Your right it needs support. but from what my experiance shows, stay teh fook away.

10K worth of bodywork and its fooked and it hast done 100 miles. If I hear of anyone wanting to buy fibershite, There is no way soem of the things that have happened should of happened. Last straw was having my wing split going down a road. whats gona happen when I floor it ffs

Oh and I would recomend anyone going on the Germany trip with me not to get behind, who knows what peice of it will fly off

You've either been sold total shite or it's been fitted really badly.

All kits are fibreglass apart from some fronts and most people dont have any problems.

Sure if you bash a wing or whatever it might crack but it shouldn't in normal use and if it was metal you'd have to replace it at higher cost anyway.

Take the parts back if they're poor quality and get them to pay for the job doing again as they have caused you to be out of pocket.

Who fitted the kit? Maybe they didn't use the correct compounds or something so it's damaged the fibreglass or is taking too much stress?

I dunno but it ain't right and you've paid good money.

Have to agree with ChrisC here fella. With the exception of only a few front bumpers pretty much all the rest of bodykits are F/G and many even with F/G fronts last for years. This is NOT just Zed kits either!

Something ain't right with the parts you've been supplied or the fitting off :(

Your best speaking with both parties concerned.

Really feel for yer having spent so much time and cash on your project but feel your best looking in other areas to proportion the blame for your woes mate, always easy to blame the product, which ain't always the case, soz

smithy

lets just say the fitting isnt an issue. the guy who did it is no cowboy. but its no easy fix either as I had the skirts blended into teh wings.

Im going to save up and get a Polyuerothane front that can handle some dings on day to day driving.

What wing Chris? your front Vipers?

z center fiberglass front bumper, side skirts, all blended in to the bodywork I.E no joints on the bodywork visable, tailgate skin high level rear spoiler, rear bumper and not a single problem at all.

I swear by my 99 spec polyurethane front. I wouldn't go near fibre glass ones now. I've bumped someones tow-hitch and the half golf-ball ding disappeared in the sun within a couple of hours. Also span the car after someone pulled out in front of me and I ended up against the hedge. The only damage from both incidents is cracking to the paint which I'll get resprayed as soon as I can.

Don't see the problem with fibreglass fronts at all.

I've bumped mine a few times with no problems and if it ever does get damaged they're easy to repair or replace and still half the price of a eurethane one.

It's not the bumper he's on about :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

No problems with the fibre on my car I have genuine paul bailey wide arches and they are very thick, also i know there fitted properly because i did them. lots of places save money by making them paper thin so they will always crack, also if you try blending them in to your wings etc they will crack, a car is designed to flex thats why its made is seperate panels in the first place.

In 4 years your Z has only driven about 500 miles NUMPTY :xxx:

Well he told me the "wings" cracked apart so i guess it's both :wack: even worse :(

I already replied to that above dummy! :headvswal LOL

I was replying to Royal's point about poly fronts being so much better LOL
