Does anyone know of a good web hosting site ? I'm currently using BTopenworld for www.300zx.org.uk but it's a pain because as far as I can tell it's not possible get the domain name to display properly in the address bar. It's re-directed correctly but always displays as my BT username etc and consequently you can't link to individual pages without effectively hiding the ID of the site (unless I'm missing something here) ???

So ideally, I want somewhere that is reliable and free (or bloody cheap!). Any recommendations ?

Very good, and very helpful

Richie.....

you could always use a frameset (yuk!) but it would serve the purpose.

make the frameset with 2 rows with the top row set to 0 and the bottom frameset to display your pages on bt. As it is in a frameset the url will always be displayed as 300zx.org.uk.

otherwise http://www.brinkster.com/ are good and free and allow asp and sql server to be used - always a good thing smile.gif

Email me if you want more info.

Cheers

Well Tim, you can never turn down a Meg Ryan, and a free one at that !!! wink.gif

I just signed up with www.powaspark.com

Dont't know what the service is like yet but you can get 1GB space and free domain registered for £99 for a year!

Also unlimited space for £199pa or just 100MB for £49pa.

I know the two can not really be compared but Energis wanted £12000 for 500MB!

We've just switched the 200 forum over to www.titanhosts.net

£50 a year, 500meg transfer a month, decent amount of webspace, all on a 100Mbit Telehouse connection, on totally reliable servers, Unix (BSD) or Windows hosting, all sorts. Consistently one of the fastest ISP's in the country.

www.titanhosts.net

drop me a mail and give me a rough listing of how much traffic you do and ill hook you up on one of my servers in london, BTW this applies to everything Z related
