Hello,

I wanted to know if there is a way to disable and enable fastly the HICAS?

Is there like a fuse or a wire to disconnect?

Thank you

from what i remember - disconnect the solenoid on the wing and short out the end with a paper clip. cover in tape. bodgeartists 'r' us :)

Hehe, Uninstall it and send it to the scrapyard...

It weighs more than it helps...

search for posts with HICAS by john dixon - lots of options!

also depends on what series your car is.

my car is from end of 1991.

I will certainly remove it but i go to a training the 27th of february and have no time to remove it. Moreover, I need the HICAS eliminator :s

The hicas is on front right, close to the tank of liquid for power steering. right?

yes - there will be a feed from the power steering tank to the solenoid, and a feed from the solenoid to the power stering pump.

remove the solenoid and join these 2 pipes with a short length of fuel hose,

you can then remove the remaining 2 feeds from the solenoid, which run all the way down the length of the car, and yes, you will need an eliminator bar.

This are picture to help.

As you can see, there is a brown wire cable. I was wondering if I could not just only disconnect it ??

sorry, yes you can - copied from a post by legrath a while back

"Easiest way is to Just disconnect and bridge the connector under the engine bay, 10 second job

Connector is the brown electrical one together with the hicas stuff under engine bay. Disconnect it, and stick a metal spade type connector in the end of the plug closest to front of car.

That way u get to try it, to see if u prefer it, and if not, put it back.

You can always go the for the locking, and removal for weight savings later"

strip it out mate !!! i am its so heavy

thats the spirit! :)

how much does it weigh?

About 15-20kg...

The original electric leather seats weighs as much as...

57kg (28.5kg/each)

So they just have to go to mate...

Thanks for the tip on how to bypass the super HICAS...

I´ll teach the guys in sweden about this to...

Hi, I have a 1994/5 Ztt. My HICAS light comes on every now and then. If I stop and restart it goes off. Sorry to be dim but what does it do and have I a problem brewing.

Regards

Barry

I was under the impression it is the connector on the power steering reservior that needed to be disconected and then shorted to disable the HICAS?

Yes.

Disconnect the plug circles in red, and Bridge with a terminal connector.

As a quick and simple way to try it without hicas. Fit hicas eliminator (and strip it all out if you want) for a more permanant removal.
