OK I got hit recently with the news that yet another friend of mine has Lymphoma, a rather nasty strain of cancer that attacks the lymphatic system.

 

This got me thinking about my donation through the club to Cancer research.

 

Had a quick chat with Rich (Chunk) and he is in favor so here goes.

 

I thought it would be nice to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. We get to raise money for a very good charity and we all get to meet in some way as a club.

 

Seeing as this is a car club, it would have to involve the cars in some way.

 

Need a few ideas, Ive had a couple.

 

Round Britain relay run. Can you imagine 50+zeds touring round the country at teh same time?

Sponcered 24 hour race/run (Le Mans all over)

 

Your serious sugestions please.

 

Secondly, a poll. just to see numbers.

Im going to post this on ZClub too and see if they want to get involved.

How about a drive between the cancer research centres that are dotted around the country??? Photo opportunites at each one and each participant to get sponsored by friends/family/colleagues/work etc??? Just a thought.......................

How about, arranging to take children and teenages with cancer, for a trip in the cars?

 

this way, they actually get something else to the money, and we give them a nice day, somethijng im sure they wont have many of.

 

the round uk thing will be a nightmare, i tried this for a previous club, and it never came through, the odds are too far against you from the start mate.

How about a mass meet with stalls etc. I am sure we have enough skills or enough jumble to raise some money...

try local businesses for sponsorship, local papers etc?

Could sell Z Run tshirts to people not going on the trip and profits to goto the charity ? as they are very cool

i would more than be happy to do a charity run cant we make this event bigger i know a couple of lads from the lamborghini owners club could ask them to get involved if you like

someone needs to decide if this is all possible and then agree to pick this up on behalf of the club...

Damn good idea. Put me down for helping if I can. Whatever we decide to do.

Im gona give it some serious thought over the week and talk to cancer research to see if they have had anything done successfully in the past.

 

will post by Friday a definate plan of action.

Count me in,some of you may know this but Donna had an operation to remove a cancerous tumor just before Christmas,she starts her Chemo therapy and Radiation treatment week after next,hopefully will have free time for whatever is decided,.
