as per title, only when i first turn the car on after its been sitting for a couple of hours this is nearer the 120 mark.

Any idea if there might be something wrong?

120 sounds a too high to me, although Pressure should be higher when cold. Its more than likely an inaccurate reading since the oil pressure gauge is well known to be dodgy on these cars.

if its not a dodgy reading what might be wrong cos ive had just about every other problem so far :x:

Aye, could do, but with £30 tyres on the back, it might be just that! :D

As Legrath says - you need an aftermarket oil pressure gauge if you want anything near an accurate pressure reading.

The tracks on the factory pressure switch (variable resistor) wear out leaving you with a false low reading. Not heard of false highs. I have the same problem on my Mrs MX5 could be a faulty oilstat in the oil cooler.

bird just wait till sunday and we can all have a laugh :x: sorry LOOK at it for ya

only jesting with ya bud

forgot to say, like i said before those standard gauges aint much cop

My gauge reads about 90 when cold but drops to 30 under normal running, upto about 60 under boost. It never used to go that high but I've put this down to thinner oil than I previously used.

OK that's....cool. Another top top tip from you that must be 10 :duffer:
