I have recently bought a 300z i have had the car De-Limited but when the Car is in 5th Gear it seems very disapointing. Put it this way i had a 200sx and that car would walk all over the 300z, why?

Probably because you paid crap money and bought a complete lemon ... like anything in life you get what you pay for ... :x: :smw:

Is that just an assumption?

So you bought an NA bud? What is the performance like? 5th gear isnt exavtly amazing in the NAs

sorry .. that wasn't very helpfull was it ... I have never driven a n/a 300zx so cannot compare with a 200sx :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure people will ;) ), but isn't the use of 5th for cruising? As it's not an acceleration gear.

Plus it's an NA! What do you expect? Nothing against NAs, but if you had a Turbo 200SX, then it's going to 'feel' quicker.

Obviously ....

Sorry, just seemed a bit of a stupid thing to say.

On acceleration it aint too bad but again i had a 3litre GSI engine and that was fast. Do anybody know the top end on a non-turbo 300z. The car redlines ok in lower gears but top end is completely trash wot a disapointment

Well, untill someone comes back at me and dissagrees with me, then I stick with what I just posted, 5th gear ISN'T for acceleration, it's for cruising.

i expect at least 150mph if it cant deliver what a load of tripe!

i've had two 200sx's, one s13 and one s14 and my bro's got one.they are by no means slow cars. my dad has an N/A and its not as fast as them especially in 5th gear.turbo's make a big difference in accelleration. but who cares when your car looks so much sweeter! just means more people see you driving it as your not flying past them! :D

yes it was ... hence my post #6 :-)

What do u mean

i expect at least 150mph if it cant deliver what a load of tripe!

It's an NA!!! Perhaps you should have done a bit more research before buying it. You're your own worst enemy. Can't call it tripe, it does what it says on the tin. Your choice to buy an NA instead of a Twin Turbo.

i have got the n/a for my 1st go with them might get a tt some day but they look hot and still nippy comperd to my every day scenic

After driving the 200sx i was impressed and i thought that the 300zx was a natural progression but i am so disapointed with it especially with the top-end which i dont know what the top end is supposed to be ? I had a 3000litre non turbo vauxhall senator and that was a flying machine whats so different with the fairlady?

Anything looks hot and nippy compared to a scenic bud .. no offence by the way .. LOL :D

FOR THE LAST BLOODY TIME!

It's because you bought a Normally Aspirated

LOL a 3000 litre senator? A 3.0 you mean and they didn't ever make a turbo Senator. So no point in saying non-turbo.

Call me stupid if u want you seem to be losing your rag a bit buy what do you mean by normally aspirated! Is the car a waste of time! Iwas thinking of spending a few bob on it is it worth it ?

Edgeyboy...

I had a 200SX S13 for six years and it was quick.

I now have a NA 300ZX and I would say it's faster in top gear than my 200SX was.

My 300ZX pulls quickly up to 130mph where it hits a limiter.

My 200SX would get to over 140mph but not to 150mph and my 300 definatly feels quicker.

My 300 is an auto so only has 4 gears - maybe my top gear is lower than yours? I don't know.
