ok people, I realise that my avatar pic kinda points to the fact that I'm a police officer!

In all honesty I really don't wanna be disliked because of what I do because I think I make a difference. There are also certain other members on the forum that, I think feel the same, and at the end of the day we're here because we try to do a good job, yet I can sympathise with people that feel differently, because they may have been treated unfairly.

Reading through the posts, I can see that most of the 'regular' members are sensible, law abiding citizens.

All I ask is that we (the police) are given a fair chance. I also realise that no actual inference has been made to the police service, by any member.

Anything contained within my post is my opinion, and is NOT the opinion of any Police force in the UK, or the home office.

Really guys, I'm just trying to improve the police/public relationship. Surely the vast majority of you will understand?

Thanks for listening!

Look at those last 2 posts from xav2075 and T-Pot. That says more about the work that we (cops) do than I ever could have.

Don't even get me started about what I do now (Prolific Offenders Scheme)!

However, no disrespect to Dirty Sanchez, but isn't this forum about cars?

Quick Tim hide the crack pipes :x:

Seriously, this place is about our cars and thats what matters :)

lol

Don't worry mate - I flushed the lot as soon as I got a hint the law was about.

:duffer:

I must add this......Hypocricy? Maybe, but a fact in my life. Many years ago I occasionally over stepped the line and broke the law. Not driving but the "real law" :D Then I used to refer to the police as the enemy or at least the opposition. For many years now I have no longer trod that path and find myself refering to the police as my comrads or at least my allies. I uphold the law and think i am now a law abiding citizen. But I have no need to break the law now. So is it the fact that if you dont break the law you have nothing to worry about. As already pointed out or is it just an ocupational hazard...Getting knicked? Without crime we wouldnt need the poilice?

Traffic police and traffic law on the other hand is an ass in most cases. Therefore I find I have far less respect for it than the "real law"

Bizarely since i got into trouble with the Police 5 years ago (no specifics so nerr) I have developed a better understanding of the bizarre, mundane and awfull stuff they have to deal with. Often they have to try and be a honest broker between people who want to rip each others heads off. They are human so its not perfect

I had a particulary violent girlfriend once - mad mandy, who in a rage had to be dragged into the back of a police van by 4 coppers. All got bruised and one got her finger bitten. But the Police were sympathetic to the overall context of the situation and gave her a caution. Life is so weird and as a copper i imagine they get it in full Technicolor with THX surround 24 hours a day.

PMSL...Mad Mandy...lol

It is about cars but not JUST about cars. In my experience this forum is also about helping our fellow members..in whatever way we can... :smw:

The law in itself is there for good reason, shame it is spoiled by the do-gooders and the justice system!!

Am I whoring now??? :hyper:

To be fair every time iv needed the police they have been there.

And also i have been sitting in a car park late at night il admit and 2 coppers came in and pulled up alongside me. Did the usual checks etc etc to check i was the owner of the car, insurance MOT etc. All fine. And then the *******s searched the car for drugs! I dont do drugs so i was absolutly shocked! I had a t-shirt on and they made me stand outside for 10mins while they searched the whole car including under the bonnet and underneith all my boot build.

This was annoying!

Also i was parked outside university on the pavement and the front bumper of my car was hanging over the driveway to our carpark blocking the pavement.

I get a phone call off my uncle at work (Because my car is registered there) saying that my car is going to be towed! I run out of a lecture and sprint back to find 2 coppers sitting in a car happily munching on a bag of crisps. Im always polite as i know there are good coppers too (my uncles 1) but this bobbie was an arrogant twat! Gave me a £30 fine and told me to move my car. So i had to drive round Preston for 2 hours! to try and find a bloody parking space! All because 3 foot of my car was blocking the pavement.

So generally on the whole i dont mind the police but in some circumstances they really piss me off!

Im sure your a top bloke though so keep up the good work!
