on my private runway ofcourse :mac1:

right then where to start??

i have had a new engine fitted it was a manual engine but im sure there is minnimal diffrence bettween auto and manual tt engines anyway,

because its got all new pistons and bearings in the engine i have'nt been able to over rev it for a few thousand miles, :D

fitted a hks alc :hyper:

finnaly had a chance to floor it after running it in for 2500 miles everything fine till 125mph then i would hit the rev limiter and no gear change

so i thought it was the alc, i removed that and tried again, still no gear change above 125 :headvswal so i double checked the plug in the autobox ecu and tried again still no gear change :headvswal :headvswal

well now i am lost the oil in the box look nice and pink

but the level in the box seems to be high!!

should it be on the cold mark when its cold

as when mine is cold it reads above the hot mark, would this be the cause of the autobox not changing up

also have been on a run with a conzult and no errors found but i didnt go over 70, maybe i should try again but over 125

any help greatly appreceated fellas :duffer:

The autobox oil should indeed read "cold" when the car hasn't been run. Are you checking the level with the engine running?

TBH best way th check 'box oil level is to go for a 30 minute run, then park on level ground. Keep the engine running and move the gear selector from park, down to 1 and back to park. Get out quickly and check the oil making sure engine is still running.

yep checking the oil when the engine is off and stone cold the oil level is above the hot mark !!!

with the over drive if i drive normaly say 100mph and play with the overdrive then it will go off and on

but when i floor it from say 60 to max speed then it wont go passed 125 just bounces off the red line???

it will read higher when cold, when it warms up all the valves etc fill up so you will get a totally differant reading, you need it hot and running to get an accurate reading, hot should be on the hot mark :D

how old is the box, sounds like no top gear?

Sounds like the overdrive isnt kicking in.

spot on the car will redline at 128mph approx if the overdrive is not working its the same as switching the overdrive off

ahh!! so its the overdrive!! seems to work ok in the other gears as when i switch it on or off the revs get higher

so what should i be looking at now then it was all clear on the conzult??

Try checking the oil with the engine running like stated in earlier posts, it may be low. :D

YEP THANKS FELLAS  DID AS YOU SAID AND CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL WHEN WARM AND FOUND IT TO BE LOW :headvswal

SO WILL TOP IT UP AND GIVE IT ANOTHER GO :D

THANKS AGAIN

Easy mistake, unless someone tells you then who who think you would check the level with the engine running?
