Rear Light Setup

hi guys, Car failed its MOT not so long back and one of the reasons it failed was because of the setup of the rear lights and that they shudnt be setup this way. Is this guy correct? if so, how should they be set up / what is the standard way and how can i set it up as standard?

Ive attached a pic of the setup as it is now.

Any help with this would be much appreciated

    right - reversing lights are not part of the test, so you can ignore those anyway.

     

    the foglight must be installed either centrally or to the o/s of the vehicle

     

    needs to emit red light & have a tell tale on its switch.

     

    what have they actually failed it on??
