OK, i'm not known for my calm temper on a good day, but today i lost the plot.

Ordered a set of new rubber for the front of my car, went to have them fitted today, and when they brought them out, they looked bloody bald...

the centre, had great depth of tread, but the side's were less than a third the depth (these are new tyres)

is this a con, or a ploy to chew your tyres quicker, i can see no reason why the edges of a tyre should be any shallower than the middle.

anyway, i told the guy to keep them, as they were crap, he said i would have to pay a handling charge, so i grabbed the first tyre off the rack, threw it at him and told him to compare the edges, these ones were equl all over, and they were the same width.

anyway, i left without paying anythig, and i still have to bald tyres.

new ones being fitted monday else where, same as i have now, so they will be fine

but i cant help feeling i was about to be ripped off, we pay more than enough for rubber as it is

I get that also, but this post fits the screen, others here dont though, so basically, i dont know

get a bigger screen maybe lol

marshall are budget tyres and are a bit poo in my opinion.

ive never had any problems with falken or kumho but some other would disagree.

go for the best you can afford bud.

i brought part worns recently only because i found out i need two new tail pipes so gotta save :headvswal :headvswal

quite a few of the wider "sportier" tyres have less tread on the edges, doesnt really matter legally as its not the main tread.

Going Plasma then....

 that seems odd to me as most peoples tyres on a sports car tend to wear the outsides of the tread due to the cornering characteristics of the car if driven hard

I run Marshall, never had any problems with them. Never noticed the shallow tread on the edges from new, maybe i wasnt looking hard enough. The only downside seems to be rears last me 5,000 (abused :D) miles tho, fronts 10,000.

 judging by your avatar if its yours im surprised they last that long
