I have Kakimoto exhausts one each side they have few holes in them and the insides (bafils?) are totalled looks like a birds nest inside.

Would i be loosing much power from this and make the car run abit rough?

When i get these replaced is it worth getting x pipes aswell as i've heard they are good on non turbo cars but on a turbo not worth it. Just need some more info on this really.

mine are straight through aswell.

i'll probably be corrected on this but i think a x pipe or cross over pipe is where both your pipes cross over into one and back out again like X think to balance out the flow between both pipes and they fit between your rear box and mid pipes.

Is this correct? and are they to any benefit on a turbo 300???

From what I heard, they're to give some back pressure on NAs, so I wouldn't think they'll be any help on a TT. I was hoping to get some made up for my NA (since my mid section needs replacing), but the only exhaust chap I know was vague and seemed reluctant to do anything but straight-through.

speedemon - is it your NA that has straight-through? If so, do you feel you've had any issues from lack of back pressure? Thanks in advance.

also rear boxes how do they work?

do i get better performance or sound from a larger rear box or smaller?

is there anything else important about rear boxes before i get one made?

I have had no issues of lack of back pressure mate, I have a small problem with over fueling though and my twin HKS zorsts sound fookin loud as well but thats about it. My cars booked in for a Dyno run on the 9th and I will post the results. P.s I only own an N/A I am not rich enough to own a T/T and N/A as much as I would like to ;) ;)

Hehe, I know the feeling ;)

Well, that sorts it then - I'll go straight-through as well :) The car already overfuels when cold, and is loud as hell - I just want it to be a "good" loud again, instead of a knackered-zorst loud. Thanks for the info! :D

My NA runs with separate pipes all the way through left and right. I have tubular headers also.

The most important consideration with any NA engine is to get a system with the correct diameter. And also a system that flows freely. Overlarge pipes on an NA cost you power.

I used the Santa pod dyno to evaluate my mods to the system. Decatting and fitting a freeflow Zorst reduced ETs and the tubular headers subsequently fitted reduced it even further.
