Hi Guys,

For a while now the horn has been working on and off, but today was going down the road and it came on by itself and was on continously!

I pulled the relay out and left her in the pub car park....when i came out the drivers side main beam was on, but only on on that side!

I got home and turned the engine off and the drivers side main beam was flickering on and off and i could hear the relay in the fuse box tapping away. I decided to put the horn relay back in and now when i beep the horn the drivers side main beam flashes as well!!

Anyone had this? Also my windscreen washers dont work either, so im wondering whether i need to replace some of the relays perhaps?

Dan.

LOL! Cant really help you, but i can sympathise with you on the continuously sounding horn, had that happen once, especially embarassing when its got a novelty horn fitted.

I think Id be looking for water ingress or loose metallic particles somewhere in your switch gear.

Sounds like you car is trying to become a police car Zed! Lights and sirens at the same time!

Sorry, cant help you in any way other than piss taking. :slap:

strange...i turned the lights on and the horn went once and that now seems to have corrected the problem?!

Whether it stays like that is another story tho!

There was a loose screw sitting under the fuse box cover and i tried to grab it and it fell into the engine somewhere :x: god knows where that went, but it still happended after that disappeared anyway so im hoping that manged to work its way out somewhere!

Im hoping replacing some relays will help, are these expensive?

You can get strange effects like this from an intermittent ground wire. What happens is that the components start to ground each other out. Hence the indicators come on or the horn sounds.

I'd check all your earth wires.

How queer, perhaps an Alfa Romeo has possesed your car. I had a 164 once and i had the wipers, lights and other stuff come on by itself. I had to disconnect the battery every night.. which was in the boot.
