Anyone converted their indicators to accept side lights?

I want to move the side light from the fog light to the secondary sections in the indicators. Now iirc, the US spec cars have them in this section too.

Looking at the backing, there's recess plates already there. Is it litterally a job of just drilling this and the side light bulb holders slot in as per the fog lights or is there more work?

I have a brand new pair that have the holes for indicators and side lights all boxed I bought for a bumper which I have now sold, pm me if interested.

This is something i'd like to do at some stage, subscribing to this thread.

Also, i'd like the rear side-markers to light too, are these supposed to light up as standard, because they dont :()

Thanks Si, thats a useful thread.

Also I wanted to ask you about your number plate. The front one in particular, what are the dimensions of it? And was it from fancyplates?

Thank

Only yanks have the rear markers lit up as standard

Both are indeed from Fancyplates. Front one is 3/4 standard sized 390x84mm

Rear I had specially cut from a 'large 4x4 rear' so it would fill the recess nicely.

Hi Si,what was in your secondary section in the first place?

I ask this because i haven't had the chance to see another import indicating on the road yet but when i put my indiators on (only when dipped beam is on) the front section flashes as normal and the second section stays on constantly lighting the side of the road?

Are they all like this?

Cheers...Ron

Nothing was in there. It's a standard J-spec indicator lense.

The others you are talking about sound like US ones.

are the sidelights going to be ok in these sections as they dont have a reflector fitted in there so could be a mot failiure
