XENON GAS CHARGED 501 SIDELIGHT BULBS.

VERY BRIGHT BLUE/WHITE GAS PRESSURED BULBS

+ THESE BULBS ARE KNOWN AS EITHER 501 OR W5 BULBS , YOU CAN CHECK THEY WILL BE LISTED IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL .

+ ALL BULBS ARE "E" MARKED , AND COME WITH FITTING INSTRUCTIONS.

+ THEY EMIT A STRONG BLUE/WHITE LIGHT WHICH IS VERY GOOD FOR ELIMINATING THE YELLOW LOOK THAT NORMAL SIDELIGHT BULBS GIVE OUT.

Do these sound any good and will they fit?

Hi Graham,

I sell these (and other) bulbs and although they are quite good you will find that you can still see the blue bulb through the glass when not lit up. Not too bad of course but if you're "nitpicky" like me then it is a minor frustration. The light is not as white as HID bulbs but nontheless an improvement over the stock bulbs. Have a look at the attached pics to see the difference. The 3400K Ultra White bulbs are the same as what you've described above. The Super White LED bulbs are completely crystal clear and project a pure white light (although not very strongly).

501 bulbs are used in the running lights (located in the JDM foglights) and the side repeaters.

I'm putting together a complete kit of bulbs to upgrade the Zed's lighting to a whiter (non-HID) look - should be commercially available next week.

If you're after a completely crystal clear look for your running lights then I've got some other bulbs available with are truely white and you can't see the bulb through the glass. Ask FunkySi - I've sent hem a set last week.

Dan

danny any news on the kits as my headlights are cr*p at the moment so I need something that will boost the light on the road and a whiter look is always welcome.

Didnt want the hasstle of getting HID done so upgraded bulbs probably the way forward. Also dont suppose you would do replacement spoiler brake lights? Mine have all tied so need to swap them as well.

Hi mate,

I just got the last of the uprated ultra white bulbs in for the main and dip beam. Will put them in my car today to see what the difference is and post up the results. So far I'm looking at offering the following in the kit:

2x Dip beam ultra white bulbs

2x Main beam ultra white bulbs

2x Running lights (located in JDM fogs)

2x Fog lights ultra white bulbs

All the above will be "colour" coordinated and will be a lot whiter than the stock halogen bulbs. I can supply dip beam bulbs in either the standard 55W or uprated 100W.

As for the rear spoiler light bulbs - yes, I can get those. Please let me know whether you've got the brake light mounted in the rear TT spoiler or if it is behind the perspex replacement panel (NA or TT's fitted with a tail skin).

Will post prices as soon as I know these bulbs are the right ones.

Cheers!

Danny

PS - if you really want to upgrade your lights then there is nothing better than fitting HID kits. The kits I sell are completely plug-n-play, can be fitted by a novice in under an hour and no modifications are required so can be removed in its entirety and moved to a different car. Currently running a promotion, £250 delivered (normal rrp = £295 delivered).

If these are the ones on ebay, with a buy it now of about a fiver, seller called uk bulb co, i say buy them, i got 3 sets and they are very good, they emit a grey/ blue light is the only way i can describe it, giving the car a much newer appearance. id rate them 10 out of 10 for value for money.

what if i want to fit HiDS and have the rest of the bulbs coordinated rather than looking whiter? what can you suggest mate?

This was actually the reason why I started looking into getting whiter bulbs - I fitted my HID's and the rest looked far too yellow!

Here's a list of the bulbs I'll be selling within the next couple of days:

Dip beam: Xtreme White 55W or 100W

High beam: Xtreme White 55W or 100W

Running light: Ultra White LED

Fog light: Xtreme White 55W

If you've got HID's (like me) then I would suggest getting the 55W high beam, fog lights and running lights.

I'll post up prices tomorrow after I've had confirmation from my supplier.

All the best,

Danny

PS - I've just sold a pair of HID kits to a chap who's fitted one pair in his dip beam and one pair in his fog lights! Gave him the Xtreme White high beam bulbs to coordinate the look and he's well pleased!

I'll be after the :

High beam: Xtreme White 100W

Fog light: Xtreme White 55W

When you have prices Danny.

Here you go, pricing info fresh from the distributor! All prices are per pair and do not include £1.50 postage charge (standard charge regardless of size of order). Also any H3 bulb will need to be modified to fit a JDM Z32. I can do this modification prior to shipping but will need to charge an additional £5 per pair. Please note I may drop this service if demand proves to be too much to handle efficiently.

Xtreme White Xenon bulbs:

Dip beam (55W): £11

Dip beam (100W): £14 *for off-road use only*

Main beam (55W): £11

Main beam (100W): £14 *for off-road use only*

Fog light (55W): £11 *will require you to modify the spade connector to a bullet connector - 2 minute job!*

Xtreme White LED bulbs:

Running light (in JDM fog lights): £6

Silvertec bulbs:

These bulbs are silver coated and light up/flash amber - great for eliminating the "fried egg" look in clear side repeaters and "Crystal" indicators

Side repeater: £5

Indicators (front bumper): £7

Indicators (rear): £7

Side running lights (located behind the front bumper indicators): £5

Brake light bulbs:

Standard rear brake lights (2 pair required): £5/pair

Standard third brake light (fitted in the spoiler - three required): £6/each

If there are any specialty bulbs you may require which are not listed above please get in touch and I'll do my best to source them for you. My supplier is one of the largest in the UK so there are not many bulbs he can not get hold of!

Payment details are as per the "payment information" thread in the DTA-Motorsport section of the Traders Forum.

All the best,

Danny

Hi Andy,

I need to put that "off road use only" disclaimer on because it's a legal requirement. Failure to do so could potentially have serious repercussions for me if something were to go wrong ... In all fairness, I've been running 100W dip beam bulbs for over four years and never had any problems with them - didn't blind anyone, nor did it ever fail come MOT time ... so in answer to your question, they are just a bit bright ;)

Danny, did you have to modify your wiring etc. or is the stock wiring fine running 2x100W bulbs mate ?

Not really. I've been running 100W dip beam bulbs for about 4 years and apart from a hefty earth lead (I drive a JDM ZX) no other mods were required. As for my 100W high beams no mod was required there either. I rarely use high beam so heat build-up is not a consideration. I've now got HID's in place of the dip beams though ...

in that case can you put me some asside, thought that would be the case.. trouble is im waiting on wanadoo/orange to sort my broadband out at home and my work internet wont let me get on anything to transfer money or ebay / paypal... *anger!!* so once i get it sorted at home il grab some 100w dip beam lights and white side lights bulbs as well... i need a bit of help working out which spoiler lights i need though... not really getting what the difference is...

Ok no problem.

What spoiler lights are you talking about? The ones closest to the number plate (which are fog/sidelights in Jap spec cars and indicators/sidelights in UK-spec cars) or the high mounted brake light at the back (either in the spoiler or behind the clear perspex sheet if you've got a tailskin fitted)? Let me know which ones and I'll tell you exactly what you need.

Hi Andrew,

Got the e-mail and have replied. Will get the bulbs in the post as soon as possible but given the current state of the postal system you may not get them until next week!

Thanks for the order and all the best to you and your family too!

Danny
