i have just purchased a 300 tt jap import, but now the hicas light has come on, when i go over bumps the rear end jumps as if the rear wheels are turning. any ideas as to what this could be.

Hicas light usually indicates low PAS fluid or steering wheel is not alighned correctly.

 

Rear end jumping about usually means Worn Rear shocks or Hicas bushes.

its on a service record from 4 months ago that the light was on, havent checked fluid, when goin over bumps its as if the rear wheels are turning and the car steps out a bit. it only happens over bumps in the road.

also has a concept 650 alarm fitted, ive played with it, broke it, cant start it without puttin the over ride code in each time, remote start doesnt work and the turbo timer now works after each run.

My back end jumps out in the same way but i definately need a rear shock! ! ! :x:

 

make sure it hasn't been disconnected as that would put the light on too.

Take it to an alarm specialist, you should have the certificate and stuff to say its a cat1 and who fitted it, check if there's a guarantee.

just been out in the Z. my god its scary in the wet. the back end problem is terrible, its like nothin ive felt before, its as if when going over bumps the rear wheels turn through a few degrees, could this not be anything to do with the rear wheel steering? sort of fixed the alarm, had to re-programme the alarm. cheers

i had mine in the snow the other week and even just doing 15mph i still wasn't confident i would stay on the road and not kill myself :headvswal

sounds silly but just bcheck that all wheel nuts are tightened properly

yup mines a turbo i live in town end farm, i seen a black 300 go past monkwearmouth college yesterday

thats what it is like, its as if the wheel bolts are loose. thats what i thought and tried moving the wheel but they seemed firm. dunno wot the prob is, the bump doesnt even have to be big, even does it when going over the join on new road surfaces.
