hi i have had my black twin turbo manual for about 4months now and i just need some answers to a few questions, can you plz help:

-I see many people have an engine rebuild, my car has done 125 thousand miles(i no thats alot), but when will i need to replace the engine, and how will i know when?

-i think my turbos are running fine but how do i make sure that both turbos are working, what are the signs, how do i test them?

-is it possible for one turbo to be working and the other not working at all?

plz help me as i am going out my mind with paranoia!!!!!!!!!!! :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

if its running ok then enjoy it.

sign of turbo failure is blue smoke coming from the relevent exhaust.

just keep giving it regular oil changes and let it warm up before you boot it.

regular maintance is the key to these cars.

but chill out and enjoy the beast

The thing to bare in mind is whether the car has had a kind life of not. 125k on the motorway is nothing but 125k on the streets is going to show. I bought my Z with 90k and sold it with 123k and it very missed a beat in 3 years, even though it was chipped. I think it still is running without an engine rebuild over 1 year later.

If you are concerned,I would get a compression test done to start with, and then do a rev test to see if your turbos are leaking. If this ok and there are no other boost problems and no funny unexpected noices, I would just keep maintaining her until she hiccups!

simple way of telling whether your tubbies are working or not is that you should be achieving 9.5psi boost when you floor it. will be limited to 7psi when running cold or if the ecu detects a problem so let it warm up first.
