Type approval applies to the later 99spec cars as they are the same car with no standard power increase and any extra features on the 99 spec cars are concidered as safety revisions.

 

You will not find a SVA spec for a 99 fairlady because as far as the MOT are concerned its the same car, ie. a type Z32 Nissan and the 99 spec is seen rather like the difference between a Mondeo L and a LX.

 

Also in 2002 I was out bid for a 2001 Black 2+2 99spec Z32 with dark red Factory fitted Leather and ancara interior. It was in the UK. SVA'd, had 18" multi spoke split rims and 5600K on the clock. It sold ford £30K and believe me it is out there. Proberbly in someone collection. I bid up to £25K and lost :cry: :cry:

 

well that one smashed the myth that you cant get a 99/00/type R import...i knew the dvla would assume some sort of policy when it came to late production run models...stands to reason they can make more money...! :D

I do like the convertables, I would eventually like to get one, obviousley turn it into a twin turbo, with a manual gearbox, but it's not likely to happen in the near future.

Has to be a wide bodied Shortie for me :)

Having had a 2+2 targa, AND a SWB slick top, I've gotta say I much prefer the shortie - so I voted for that.

 

However, my favourite image of a Z is this 2+2 in white (and I usually don't like white Z's!):-

Fook that thing makes me drool. I searched hi and lo for a 99 spec verion R in the UK but could never find one, sadly since the new the crash test importation bolllox you cant import them to the UK till their ten years old now. Not sure if any made it to the UK prior to this ****y law. Even worse now I'm in Canada, imports have to be 15 years old :confused: At least I can bring my aging example over.
