Well last night it was snowing again, normally i dont mind driving in the snow that much so me and the lover went to the picture to see harry potter :D

Now when we came out it seemed that most of the snow etc had gone,

however

On the a19 i went up to about 60 (roads were fine!!!)

Im getting a vabration coming up through my seat  i dont know what this could be, im thinking it could be something to do with the fact that my gear box is dead, does anyone know???

Anyway, i ended up doing quite slow because it seemed the back end was all over the place, i eventually end up doing 20mph or less and the back end still seemed all over the place, at that slow of a speed and the state of the road (which still weren't too bad i dont think the car should be all over that much.)

I know when im driving sometimes the back end seems to kick which i think is the fact that i need a new shock absorber however last night kind of worried me!

Anyone got any problems or advise???

If you have worn shocks, bushes, hicas, tyres..etc then Bad road conditions with exagerate the problem further.

You've posted in the wrong area mate, try posting in help & advice ;)

The vibration could be due to a knackered propshaft centre bearing.

As for your car wandering all over the place, are you sure it wasn't black ice? If all the snow had melted, it could have washed away the salt. Then perhaps the roads froze over again at night

Also, low profile wheels only make things worse as I've discovered!

I'm sure their not ignoring you....!

Mine does this when cold - its a pretty common problem. The prop shaft centre bearing is usually the reason for this when it gets old and perished, you'll probably find it usually reduces the longer you drive (as the rubber bush in the bearing gets warmer and softer). Maybe the cold weather at the moment is making it more obvious.

Could be something else but the bearing is probably the first thing to check.

HTH.

Yep :( Low profile wide tyres + rear wheel drive in bad weather conditions, is a whole differnt experience to driving a regular fwd car...certainly more entertaining :D

Fook me, you're a brave soul. I don't think I'd be prepared to take the risk of the gearbox locking up on me :x:
