Guys

Just a thought, without the original loom wire on the temperture sender unit, I presume that my fan wont cut in to aid cooling when hot.

I have the apexi sender unit and wiring running so is it as easy as splicing the apexi wire and joining the OEM loom? Or ill this stop both from working?

There are 2 temps sensors:

a main sensor (yellow connector) which is used by the ECU...this one is very important and I suggest you don't splice into this one.

The other one (smaller black connector) is used for the dash temp gauge and you could try to splice into this one or just disconnect the connector and use the sensor for your aftermarket gauge.

Thanks Eric, I forgot their was 2 there..... :)

No need to worry then, then fan should cut in when it registers whatever degrees it is to activate the fan.

I am going to fit new oil pres' and boost gauges soon and would appreciate it if anyone knows the procedure for this too.

Sorry to jump on your thread Mark. :D

Remove the sensor for the temp gauge, re-tap the alloy to suit the thread on yer new sensor if required, new wire from gauge now goes to the new sensor and you can totally dis regard the old wire OR fit sensor in a boss fitted in top rad pipe and just leave the old one alone. As Lymon says, as long as you don't touch the other sensor which feeds the ECU, the electric fan remains as is.

I thought the Z's rad cooling fan was a viscous driven one?

it has kenlowe fan for cooling on those hot days,, take of the cebtre panel nose cone and you should see it under air filter, in front of oil coolers etc
