Hi fellas

Have "recently" fitted new intercoolers and removed my carbon canister and before I put it all back together I've used my boost leak detector (for the first time) to check the intake system for leaks.

I'm using a small compressor but I'm getting no positive pressure at all  All of the relevant intake pipes were blocked during the CC removal and the ICs are on securely. I'm pretty sure that I had a leak before the IC install (possibly after my Apexi BOVS went on  ) as I was only getting about 7psi on my aftermarket gauge

Does anyone have a diagram showing the complete routing of the vacuum lines and pipes which make up the intake system or is it just a case of being methodical and following them all?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

What make of interccoler you fitted, a common mistake is to fit larger units and not refit the front intercooler ducting because it is too tight a fit between the bumper and cooler, BUT the intercooler has threaded mounted points for these and unless you block them with fixing bolts you will get big pressure leak.

If you want to bring it down the workshop we have a large compressor there, you can use all day long if you want?

Something that helps is a spray container full of soapy water, that helps find some of the trickier leaks!

LOL - they're Greddy side mounts Jeff and I remember SMW1 leaving off the ducting and related bolts when he fitted his. I made sure I didn't make the same mistake ;)

It's definitely hidden away somewhere else (or my compressor is too puny  )

BTW I was hoping that the front bumper would go back on without a hitch - you've got me worrying now :D

Thanks Mark - may take you up on that. It's definitely a big leak or (I suspect) a pipe has popped off or become disconnected somewhere..

Or (as stated above) my compressor just isn't up to the job... :(

double check all your hose clamps around the intercoolers, missed one when I did mine. All was fine until i tried to boost over 10 psi then she would stumble. soon found it though!
