Nissan Terrano II door handle assembly in a Zed...

A friend of mine has a top spec W reg Nissan Terrano II. Horrible thing it is. BUT, on closer inspection, the internal door handle assemblies look 100% identical to the ones found in the Zed....well, size wise and shape wise anyway. What's nicer about them is that instead of the handle being faided grey, it's chromed metal.

Looks much nicer than the ones in the Zed. Anyone tried doing this?

although the handle looks the same the internal barrel may differ and the linkage that goes to it,i know skylines,pulsars,200s use the same dat12 key blank but wether the mechanism is the same is another matter,i guess the best thing to do is try it

I'm not talking about the external ones though greg, I'm on about the internal handle and surround.

But yeah. I might give it a try. Can't imagine they'll be too expensive.

Have ya??? You got the same idea as well then? I'd never have thought of them unless I'd actually been in one.

thats what i mean,im a locksmith so know some of the door lock configurations obviously the inner handle operates the linkage rod,and controls the central locking solenoid,im sure you could adapt it to fit,as said give it a go see how you get on,borrow your mates handle ;) :D

no si as soon as i saw your post i did.

nice one fella worth a try and would set my interior off a treat

lol greg :)

Grrrrrrr, my ideas stolen already then Gaz!! Make sure it's a facelift version from a top spec model as I think poverty spec editions had plastic handles.

LOL oh well! :)

Hope it works as I'm gonna do it. Current ones are lightly faided and are the only faided bits of plastic in the car. Would feel a lot nicer and look nicer with newer style handles.

Ah, interesting.

I wanted to get these silvered/chromed to update the interior.

This sounds a better way to go though.

Post if/when they fit guys.

Anyone tried yet ?

Going to Staceys Nissan on Thursday most likely Dave.

Just our of interest what else is a common part ?

So that's:

door handles (interior)

headlights (Lambo)

I guess Nissan is the same as most other manufacturers in that they raid the parts bin.........

Mark

you know a healthy dose of the sprya can back2black brings the door handles back to looking brand new, i did it 4 years ago and they still look just as black.

Lambo raided the Nissan parts bin for the headlights, rather than the other way around.

I never thought about it that way but it's obvious of course :-)

In that case I wonder what other cars are using 300 parts ? Was the basic engine used anywhere else ? Or the rest of the drivetrain maybe ?

the VG30 was used in a couple of other cars, cant remember off the top of my head though. I od know however that the oil filter is the same as that fitted on 1.2l micra's :p

Knock sensor is the same for most of the range, the correct oil filter fits GA16DE engine and RB engines etc. inner dor handles look like primera ones too, and have you looked closely at black cabs, same handles in some versions.

Not yet chap. Not had the time. Nearest Nissan Dealership to me is about 15 miles away and only opens half day Saturday.

I will do soon as I'm probably going to get the interior trimmed around Easter time.
