Massive coverage in the papers today, several pages covered with the story about the policewoman who was shot and what can we do to protect them from the public, it is really really sad..........................

BUT HOWEVER.....

In the middle of the newspaper there is a tiny 2 inch column reporting on how 44 members of the public have been killed by speeding police cars this year.

Kind of shows you who is considered more important dosent it.....

yeah but its not everyday that a police woman gets shot, on th eother hand it happens everyday that a member of the public is shagged up the arse by the police (for no apparent reason)

so its just old news and people get sick of seeing it, so it only gets a little write up (fookin coppa's)

i do feel sorry for the officer that was shot dead, on her daughters 4th birthday aswell

shocking

Bring back the death penalty, and national service, n teach these pratts some respect.

I hate coppers that look for 34 mph drivers to nick, in 30 limits, but no ,four year old deserves to lose her mum this way.

Why should we have to pay, to keep guys like that gunman, and the likes of ian huntly alive in UK prisons ??

Don't let these PC or human rights lunatics hear you say that...only the criminals have rights...everyone else gets fook all....

I will probably end up getting shot for saying this but................

IMO. Ok its really sad that anyone should be or get killed on any day especially her daughters birthday. But! she knew the risks when she took the job on and that being the case it should carry no more weight than if I should be hit by a train or a racing driver killed in a crash even a loilipop crossing attendant getting run down. We do what we do and take the risks attatched to the job. The police do a fine job (sometimes) but the clue is the the sentence (JOB) (excuse the pun)...everyday we risk our lives and the police IMO (again) dont risk their lives everyday protceting us. Nicking us yes. The soldiers that are in a war zone are at the biggest risk again its their job. Sad tho. I feel for her family.................

I agree with you Viniboy :D Oh and your probably gonna get shot ? thats an understatment. i would say its almost guranteed :D

Its something I have grown used to Tony. But as I clearly stated mate "IMO" and surely we are still entitled to them, We shall see bud.

Not by me he ain't I agree. Granted I don't work in a high risk environment but there is an element of danger in every job. My mrs works at a railway station, and she has the risk of being blown up! Vini works on the railway, at 2am he relies on someone to look out for trains, so his life is in someone elses hands. The point is, everyone knows the risks of doing various jobs, and in policing that is part of the role you take on.

I do feel for her family though, and agree it is a terrible tragedy. The police are not feared though due to the justice system.....

My sentiments exactly !

You know what. Ive never had a problem with the police, I accept they are not perfect, but on teh other hand they would be able to get on a lot better with your suport.

Ill link you all to this on teh next slagging off because some chav upset you.

Ill tel you what, how about we just get rid of the copers, and seeing as we dont need them, lets get rid of the courts which in turn wont need a law system.

That woman came to the aid of the public and got shot for it. If they have that much reguard for the police, how much reguard will they have for your life? bugger all.

So by your own admission, having a job that involves this risk is down to the person. So the people working in the travel agency asked for it then did they?

Because they are coppers its ok is it?

If you dont break teh law tehn what you got to work about?

I think you argue for the sake of it dave. You have just taken a thread that is going nice and peaceful and turned it into a slanging match? No one said the police are useless no one said she deserved to be shot in fact everyone has said how sad they feel... what is being said is that why should a police officers life be more important than anyone elses? lighten up mate.

...it should carry no more weight than if I should be hit by a train or a racing driver killed in a crash even a loilipop crossing attendant getting run down.

The examples you give above would all be classed as accidents Vini. Was it an accident that some scrote shot and killed this PC? It's another example of disregard for law and order and the increasing gun culture in this excuse of a country.

I agree, reintroducing national service and the death penalty would go along way to improving this sorry state of affairs...

Dont get me wrong mate I am no criminal and as far as that is concerned yes I praise the police. But all i said was its the job they do and the risks they agree to take. FFS I would be the first to throw the switch on the fooker that shot her. I detest robbers why can they just get jobs like us all but they dont do they. They rob people and part of a coppers job is to face them. she should and probably will be honoured but her life was no more valuable than mine or yours or anyones. thats what i am trying to say...

I agree completely bud - I just hate the fact that the risks are getting so much more serious these days :(

I didnt want to start a row i know my reputation but i never wanted to upset dave or you steve its just one of them things i feel strongly about. The law itself is an ar5e when it gets to the courts anyway. the old bill nick people and the courts let them go so where is the problem. at the top? anyway. ill say no more and sit back and wiat for dave to give me an ear bashing now. :D :x:

ok Dave. I am happy with that bud.

sometimes in life the most is said by saying nothing, full respect to this copper and her family

Yep you're spot on mate! Who gives a f\/ck to be honest they get paid for it don't they. How many soldiers have died in Iraq over the last few years, don't see them making front page news do you?

I think Paul is turning into a student lefty liberal, next minute he will be selling the Socialist Worker in the Trade section :D

Try telling that to her 4 year old daughter.

A soldier serving in Iraq knows what he is up against, an should be equiped for the job, with heavy back up,,,, THATS WAR.

A WPC trying to stop scum robbing a travel agents for a few pounds, dont expect to shot dead at point blank range, on our streets.

If only they had listened to Enoch. (say no more)

Mind you, i do think the police should go back to pushbikes, and walk the beat, rather than flying around the streets in cars, and missing all the real action. 10 MPH over the limit seems a more important issue, than some guy breaking in ya garage.

Where was she shot, body I mean? Not that I'm remotely interested TBH but don't even the beat loafers wear Kevlar these days?

Yep gutted for her daughter but sorry the current state of the world is not a nice place to live day-to-day so yeah tragedy...move on! ;)

Not even gonna waste my time getting into it about Iraq. Not even comparable!

at the end of the day, its not global warming or invaders from another planet that is going to kill us

we are going to kill each other on a mass scale

That's deep Bro!

WELL... I'll tell you what too Dave... I have no time for the police at all... I am sick of coming over a hill doing about 37 in a 30 and getting speed gunned by about 4 coppers, I am also sick of getting pulled at random by a now very regular vehicle checkpoint (again involving loads of coppers... about 40 actually the last time it happenned to me)...AND I am sick of going into wales for a ride on a weekend only to be pulled by coppers with tape measures so they can measure motorcycle number plates just to issue fines (have you ever heard of anyone getting killed by a small number plate???????).

Dont get me wrong either, I dont want rid of the police, I just want them to do a good job, after what I wrote above I will now explain why I am so mad about it... 2 years ago I called em at 1am because someone was trying to break into my house (they arrived at 4.30am)

1 year later I had a compressor stolen from the side of my house (it was chained up[ and bolted to the wall and it was 600 quids worth)... I called the police again and they turned up 2 days later.

I then had 2 idiots on stolen minimoto/small motocross bikes nearly knock over a woman and her kid outside my house on the pavement at about 40mph... again I called the police and was told I would be put on a 45 minuite priority cos they were busy, that was at about 3 in the afternoon after I just came home from work and 8 of em were on a main road out of liverpool speed trapping (and you wonder why no one has any time for these people).

Ok back to the original text... The 2 officers yesterday were apparently going about there beat as normal and stumbled across the robbery and then the shootings happened... I was shocked and discusted at this crime and I really am sickened by it as no one should have to deal with that while doing a job and I agree that police officers are vital to everything .

However dave you need to realise also why people have no time for them also... the beat bobbies are a victim of the usual thing... different departments... I understand it but not everyone does, but once the traffic department gets a grip and stops chasing popints and gets on helping out with real criminals they have no chance.

A few more points...

There is a massive difference between the point scoring traffic police and the nice copper that patrols the streets/calls at ya house after a crime, that is a sad but true fact.

It should'nt be like that but it is... so with that in mind is it any wonder that the police that you meet most are the bad ,point scoring idiots and is it any wonder that amost people on here hate them.

Lets face it ... if you are reading this you are in a forum that is dedicated to Nissans only supercar and if you bought one to go to the shops at 30 mph you were mislead.. it has no boot.

Do you really do 30 in a 30? 40 in a 40? and 70 on the motorway?.

If so I sugest you look for the honda civic 1.3 forum.

actually... I very rarly post on this site... and probably should'nt have tonight... disregard the last posts and if the moderator is watching this thread... unsubscribe me... many thanks.
