about the same as a Manual TT

Twin Turbo (Euro and Jap)

280 bhp - 300bhp

283 Ib/ft

0-60 : 5.5 secs

0-100 : 14.5 secs

1/4 Mile : 13.8 - 14.2 secs

Top speed : 170 mph + (Uk restricted to 155mph and Jap to 112mph)

Although, Car and Driver in 1992 got the following figures from a Manual SWB TT :

0-60 mph: 5.0 sec.

0-100: 13.1 sec.

Quarter Mile Time: 13.7 sec.

Put ya foot all the way to the floor on the pedal on the RIGHT :nelson:

generally the auto is faster

Yep you speak the truth mate, think how long it takes the human brain to even process the complex idea of making a manwell change gear. First you have to watch the rev counter, then decide that you're actually going to make a change. So your grey matter has to send a signal to your left foot to depress the clutch pedal and at the same time send a message to your left arm to get ready to move the gear lever from a to b!

Then...

Your donut brain has to send more messages to your left and right foot, first to lift off with your right and then make the lever movement and then tell your left foot to lift off the clutch.

Then...

Once you've lifted off the clutch pedal your brain has to send another signal to your right foot to whack on the gas again!

All this can be done alot quicker by a computer that's dedicated to just this one function, it's called the Autogearbox Computer and trust me, with only 4 forward gears to deal with it can do this alot quicker than your brain.

So yes, autos are better!

Plus you can go to sleep while driving, use your spare hand and foot for all sorts of other exciting activities in order to save money for when the box dies. Lol. :x:

:mac1: no offence intended!

Yeah well I think Macca is testament to just how strong the brand new Nissan manwell gearbox can be! LOL :D Sh1te!!! ;)

FFS we should have a "how fast is such and such...." thread count !

Also to get it moving? Generally start, apply footbrake, engauge drive, release foot brake, apply mass pressure to other pedal, hold on tight, grin lots, dont look at fuel gauge unless you have the hiccups :D

2-3x stonger than the auto

that still does'nt make it a strong gear box. this is the main problem for me thinking is my box gonna give up anytime now :headvswal . cant wait to get a z-tech gear box in, are they that good i have'nt heard of one breaking

you dont think the manual gearbox is strong for being able to handle 600bhp+ , and there are many examples in the US handling far more than this. In fact until Mac had problems, a failed manual gearbox was virtually unheard off.

The large majority of car gearboxes would disintegrate with just stock zed power going through them.

i thought a few people had problems with manuals might be my mistake :nelson: . i didnt know mac's was runnig that powerful

There's a write up in the FAQ section on launching an auto.

The "a" in launching is optional ;)

Dont forget Nend!

He has destroyed 3 brand new manual gearboxes this year alone.

Mine was also brand new and it lasted 1000 miles on Greddy boost  ;)
