I so much love the round lights with a skin at the rear but can't help thinking it's being dishonest, some people might assume you're trying to make it look like a ferrari. royals car and a lot of others look superb so please no-one take offence, i'v just been looking at zcentre bodykits..

I know a lot of owners don't like the stock rear, but I love both styles. Think it's worth a poll.

yep ive got the lambo light 2, but hey has anyone done a skyline jobbie?? just a thought??

99s from smithy soon i hope / lambos look nice as well but i personally think it takes away the look of a z

personally like the 99 spec and sgt c's 6 pots (are they still available???) but hate stock, and the caravan rears.

imho cj's rx8 lights give it the best rear end in the club, and i hope to do somethin similar next summer. all imho.

Lambo's all the way for me.

But I would have stock if it mean't i could have ZELDA

Mind you I would give up both me Gonads too! :D

IMHO aftermarket bits are rarely as good quality as genuine Nissan parts.

Plus they've got to be fitted and that can be done wrong and you end up with problems. Genuine parts always seem to line up better than after-market ones.

So I'm with the majority and like the 1999 Nissan lights.

bud i cant dissagree with the masses i love the 99 spec. but seeing the twin light conversion i think it only suits the red and white z (no offence guys) the contrast on a blackz needed so 99 spec or total clear rears is the way for me.

i agree with you bud royals car does look the dogs but its the right colour imo..

just dont tell the other darkside members lol

So what looks good on a blue car :headvswal

I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

99 spec, no messin'

I cannot stand round lights on a Zed, ruins the whole look of the ar5e.

All in my humble opinion, of course ;)

Round give more of a muscle look, Stock back lights are the only thing that Nissan got wrong...

just fitted venom six-pots on mine and I reckon they're a vast improvement on the "sci-fi" look originals. Of course, as everyones said, it's down to personal preference and how you feel about the end result, after all you're the one driving her around.

By the way, mines standard metallic grey and I considered matching the lights to that - eventually went with the gloss black finish as it matched the rear perspex strip and must say all looks just right!!

Chewie, if you are staying stock with the body then like Chris and Greg have said 99's all the way

If you are going Wide then i would say 99's still look good, Lambo's look good and Viper 6 pots look the Dogs on a DaRk ZeD :bow:

IMHO only ;)

Love these. Thing that originally made me disregard the zed when I first saw one were the rear lights. Head on from the back stock lights look dodgy I think. But when I saw the zed again they grew on me.

Not too keen on lambo style because it loses the centre peice. I really like sgt c's because they retain the original '300zx' plate in the centre and retain the black colour.

But obviously to each their own. The 99 spec look good too and so would the original stocks but the only reason people don't like them is that no one likes orange these days. Graham taylor was well ahead of his time.

Oh yeah if there are some lying around could someone post a pic of the venom type lights when they're lit up? Thinking of getting some myself.

Cheers

The LED round rear lights are the only aftermarket rear lights that I don't mind. The other ones all look like they've been theived from Volvo Buses and/or Eccles Caravans!

I kinda like the LED afterburners, but that's only because they compliment what's been done to the rest of this car and also SgtC's. Certainly wouldn't get them for mine. Don't think they'd look right on a pretty much standard Zed. Besides, have you seen how cool standard/99spec rear lights look at night?

Stock are :hurl: 99spec are

Yeah just to see how cool zed lights are at night you just have to watch kill bill when uma first arrives in japan. Best scene in the movie by far.

Or you could turn your own lights on and have a look yourself of course ;)

i think the stock rear lights are too americanfied 6 pot venums for me :)

i think funkysi was on the look out for some 6pot's? ;)

ive never understood the big hoo ha with 99 spec stuff its really expensive and doesnt look that much different im sure all the purists out there would disagree and i will admit that 99 spec rears look slightly better than the original but only cos amber lights look as they are supposed to be ,,,,stock thats why most people change the side indicators to clear ones

but i do love most of the aftermarket rear lights even the flat panal fiat coupe ones ( which are a bit too smooth for me ) i mean c'mon if your modifying your zed you surely want it to look different from stock , thats why you do it or else why bother

but its down to the individual as to their tastes unless your so shallow that you modify your zed to impress others

ive never understood the big hoo ha with 99 spec stuff its really expensive and doesnt look that much different im sure all the purists out there would disagree

Totally. They are the only real replacement if you want to keep the car's look. Never ever liked the replacement. Makes the Z not look like a Z. Round rear lights couldn't suit a car any less IMHO. :)

Why would you want to modify it to that degree anyway? The Z as it stands and as it was designed was near-perfect. It's the reason why Porsche guys don't fit different rear lights to their 911s or even 944s.

Each to their own, but there's very little visually you can do to the car to make it look better than it is as originally designed. The back end, especially is one of the key design features.
