I have read in various threads about using silcone sealant to stop the leaks. Dense question - is this the same stuff you use on the bath/ clear stuff from Halfords? The gel stuff? I also read about Seek and Seal - is this liquid that flows into tiny spaces? My targa doesn't leak as much as gush, so I thought I needed something a bit more gunky to fill the gaps. I can't quite work out where it's pissing in - mind you I did try to look at it in the rain.

You might try a silicone lubricant to soften the rubber seal and improve the natural seal.

It is a less drastic solution than the sealer which ive never used

You should use the lubricant anyway by way of maintainance.

baby oil!!

worked a treat on mine, just softened up the seals nicely

Second that - don't use the sealer as it does just that so you can't just remove the targas at will.

Use the silicone oil - rub it into the rubber to rejuvinate it. That way it softens and expands the original seals to make them do their job properly.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

buy silicone grease from a dive shop, or you get pots of it with the silicone bush kits

found that my seals were leaking because of a split in the top of my door seal. really check all the seals cos i hadn't noticed for about4 months till my brother saw it. also get some compessed air down the drain holes. might clear out a blockage.
