Hey guys

Anyone got the slightest idea on what the recommended oil is? I got the viscosity but no manufacturers. Please help Don't want it to blow up!

Next thing, where do i get my oil filter from? Can i get it from nissan?

Thanx guys

Popular oil choices are Millers 10W60 and Castrol RS 10W60, IMO the best place to get the oil filter from in Nissan, but its also available as a pattern part from most motor factors and parts stores.

Nissan filter only - pattern ones are not recommended and the Nissan one is probably cheaper anyway!!

Any well known quality brand of synthetic oil of the right viscocity will suffice.

We all have our own preferences and this stirs up quite a storm...... ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

10w30  Not in my owners manual - it says 10w40 then I have a TT.

IMO the "30" is too thin when hot for the harder use European cars are exposed to. I also reckon that unless you have a highly modded TT the "60" is not necessary either and being thicker at high temps will increase friction and fuel consumption.

For an N/A stick with a 10w40 (or 5w40 for better winter protection at cold starts), they are also more readily available.

Indeed, read some of my posts 10w-60 is not mentioned and I don't recommend it because of this. 10w-40 or 10w-50 if modded and used on track is my recommendation.

Do a search for posts by oilman, you'll find all the info.

Cheers

Simon
